Used Track Exercise and mileage changed when finished?

I walk in the same park, along the same path and today my route measured differently. I walked 3.07 miles in just under 53 minutes with a pace of 17.10, according to the app. After completing my walk and my Alta syncing with the app, my walk changed to 2.38 miles with a pace of 22.11. This is not possible. Please see the attached photos, with split time for each mile and the course that I walked. Can someone please explain what happened? This is driving me crazy, I walked over 4 miles yesterday and it is fine.

I noticed when I logged onto the website, my dashboard there has the correct pace, but still only 2.38 miles.

I just found another post after your response @KT_Gray with the same problem. I tried the app again today and it was worse. It almost seems as though the faster you go, the more distance you lose!!

Here is a little more information, the screen grabs below are from the web dashboard. Interestingly, the map has the correct information, the banner is incorrect for distance but is correct for pace!
