Before the update, I used to be able to scroll to the food tracking option and see what my estimated burned calories would be for the day. At the beginning of the day, it would just read as my basal metabolic estimate. But throughout the day, especially after exercise, it would increase.
Now, even if I have the food tracking option on my dashboard, that's not available.
Does anyone know how to get that back? All I can see now is the calories I have *already* burned, and not an estimate of calories that will be burned before midnight.

Hello and welcome to the Fitbit Community @sroser
I see you have a question about Food Tracking and seeing what calories you have left for the day. I believe I can help you with that.
let’s try this:
tap your dashboard at the top of your screen
now tap Log
now look in the Food Plan tile and you will see a tiny blue gear wheel.
Now tap that blue gear wheel and choose between “Personalized” or “Sedentary”
😃 I hope this provides you with the best answer to your question.

As far as I can tell, this is not a solution to the issue in iOS, since
nothing you described is visible in the app.

hello again @sroser
I apologize I was taking you through the steps that you can follow here on the Fitbit Community. The word “Dashboard” is at the top of your screen next to the word “store” in red letters. But I can explain how to accomplish this in the Fitbit app but there’s more steps to the process.
here’s how:
1. Open Fitbit app and tap your profile picture on upper left
2. Scroll down to and tap Nutrition & Body Goals
3. Under nutrition tap the word food (I know weird but trust me)
4. Next Tap “Help me set a goal”
5. Enter current weight and desired weight then tap “next”
6. 😃 here is where you can now pick your intensity plan
7. After you pick which plan you want just tap next On the next two screen then tap done
After you have accomplished these steps you need to sync your Fitbit then your Food will look like the screenshot. Showing Calories in, out and left for the day.
😉 Please let me know if this answers your question

Thanks for walking me through how to do it on the app.
So, if I understand correctly, there is absolutely no way for me to view
the *estimated calories I will burn* before midnight like the app *used* to
do?

Yes you can View the calories estimated by midnight @sroser but you have to pick the “Personalized” or “Sedentary” Choice of how you want to view it on the Dashboard.
Can you find it based on my previous directions?

Hi MegaBite,
There wasn't any option that didn't require me trying to lose weight (I don't want to do that) on the app so I waited until I got home to use my laptop. There isn't any blue wheel. And if I try to do anything, it just forces me to try to lose weight again.

Hello again @sroser
Can you check laptop to ensure that it has the latest update? (By the way The Fitbit App had an iOS update as well) Be ensure you’re fully updated

I'm using the laptop option in the browser and I updated the app this afternoon. Still no luck. 😞

Gosh I’m so out of ideas @sroser as to why you can’t see the gear wheel. You might consider calling Fitbit Customer Service on this one. I’m so terribly sorry I couldn’t be more help.

Spent about 45 minutes in a chat with them. Seems like there's not a way to track my weight without also forcing the food plan to take calories away from me and inaccurately display an estimated "allowable calories."
I hope this oversight by the app developers will be fixed.
