Versa 2 microphone function not working with iPhone

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I am a little upset to find out I can’t talk text to reply to messages because I have an iPhone..what is the point of seeing my message if I can’t reply? Alexa does not work unless I let the Fitbit app run in the background of my iPhone, why? Just seems like they tried to make Fitbit compatible with iPhone yet it lacks a LOT. PLUS the sleep tracker doesn’t work and I’ve had it solved once and now I am told it’s happening to multiple people? Not a good first impression and I’ve only had it a couple of days.. yikes.

Hi @SunsetRunner. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for letting me know about your Versa 2, and I'll help you with your inquiries. Let me explain that while you'll be able to receive notifications from your iPhone, currently the quick replies feature, using either customized texts or the microphone, is just available for Android and not Apple. I'm sorry for this inconvenience as I understand how great it'd be to have this function working for your iPhone. Our team often reviews the Community and be sure that your feedback will help us to improve our services and overall environment. Also, as you noticed, it's necessary to have the Fitbit app running on the background when using Alexa. This way, your Versa 2 can continue being connected to your phone and work when setting reminders or checking your data.

In regards to the sleep issues, do you mean that the sleep wasn't tracked by your Versa 2? Were you wearing it too tight or loose on your wrist? If you've not done so, try restarting it so we can refresh its performance.

Keep me posted.

Hi! Thanks for getting back to me.

This is what I mean with the sleep stages. (Picture below)

I was able to get it fixed once with customer support and then it happened again and they informed me it is not just me and it is happening to multiple people. They also said it is being worked on but no estimate for when it will be fixed. I’m just bummed out right now.

Hi @SunsetRunner. I'm glad to see you here again.

Thanks for sharing more details, as well for the screenshot provided. It seems that the sleep patters details recorded by your Versa 2 aren't matching the graphs at the top. As our team shared with you, Fitbit is aware of this situation which has been experienced by some of our users. They're currently working on this to resolve it as soon as possible so your details can be displayed correctly. In the meantime, please make sure to keep your Fitbit device and app up-to-date to ensure you receive the quickest resolution.

If you have another question, feel free to let me know.

As others have mentioned, I too am disappointed that I can’t use the voice functionality to reply to text messages or notifications.

Is there a future update that will enable the Versa 2 voice control to function on Apple IOS?  Thank you.

So it has been a little over a year on this blog. Has there been any Fitbit updates to include iOS? I too am frustrated with the voice command not functioning to the point I am going to spend the obscene amount of money on a Apple Watch. Please tell me there is an update?!

Hi @Eseybert. Welcome on board.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts about this situation. Currently the quick replies function is available just for devices that are syncing with Android devices. If you have an iPhone, you can only respond to Fitbit app notifications. I see where you're coming from about having this feature available while using an iOS device and I'm sorry for this inconvenience. Every comment shared in the forums never goes unnoticed as it helps us to enhance the experience with our products, rest assured yours won't be the exception.

See you around.
