I have had my new Fitbit Versa for almost a month. I have had problems with it dropping Bluetooth connection since day one. I had a Blaze previously and i never had this issue. It’s very frustrating and I have tried resetting and restarting it. Any suggestions before I return it?

I'm not sure how iOS works, but understand Android and would assume its about the same.

The tractor is not suppose to stay connected, this would use to much battery.

The Fitbit gets paired to the phone.

During a request for a gps connection. Since the tracker is a trusted device, the phone accepts. The Fitbit background services then handles the request.

When the phone sends a notification, the Fitbit received and processes.

A sync never needs the tracker to be connected. The app is able to reach out to the tracker without the tracker being a Bluetooth approved device. The user may be asked to confirm.

I agree with everything you say. "When the phone sends a notification, the
Fitbit received and processes."
It appears the Fitbit stops receiving the process, or the "radio wave"
communication or something in the Firmware that goes haywire. In my case
this has happened three times. I have other friends that are Android users
with the exact same problem. Reading so many other Blogs with similar or
same issues, definitely something wrong with the Fitbit communication over
some period of time.

*Respectfully,*

I was the one who originally opened this discussion when I first got my Versa a year ago. Now I've upgraded to the Versa 2 and this problem has been solved. Don't know if it's the better Bluetooth in the 2 or fixed in firmware.

I have a versersa two. It is a piece of crap! One day works then it doesn’t have to keep trying to find it under Bluetooth usually can I find device turn everything on off on off on off. Works for 10 minutes and then it stops right now I’ve tried to get it to reconnect for over an hour and I have decided that it is a great big piece of crap!
Apple Watch here I come! I’ve already waited too long.

*The only thing I can tell you is to replace the **ahem** watch. Firbit until
their honest about this failure will only drive you crazy. My best guess is
their trying to fix the issue and not speaking about it with the Fitbit
community. You don't want to effect Googles Stock price now do you?*

I have tried everything recommended over and over again just short of smashing this thing with a hammer. It worked fine for about a year with only a few glitches and now it either won’t pair at all or won’t sync. How about a refund instead of more troubleshooting tips that don’t work. My wife has one too and just stopped wearing it all together. She actually wanted an Apple Watch and I talked her into these. My bad as it turns out.

There was a firmware update a week or so ago. So far, my Versa has
maintained a connection to sync and receive text messages. I do hope it
continues; however, if it fails again, I may be looking at a Samsung. It
is so frustrating and I agree about them having us keep "troubleshooting."
My issue started within a few months of getting it and lasted over a year.
The last communication I had with them, I was told my issue had been
forwarded to tech support and it may be 7 business days before I receive a
response. That's been at least 2 or 3 weeks ago and I've heard nothing
else. I'm crossing my fingers the update holds.

Firmware update only works if you can connect to your device via Bluetooth. I can’t even connect now so not able to update firmware.

If you haven't done so, try resetting the Versa. I did this as a last
resort, and think I did it right before the update but am not positive.

been 3 weeks without a watch.

Another replacement? I was never lucky enough to get one replacement, even
though I began having issues within months of purchasing it. I hope your
new one comes soon and works properly. Fitbit is going to lose lots of
customers of this. Even though mine is working okay now, I think it'll be
my first and possibly only Fitbit.

My first tracker was a Samsung Gear and it worked well. Eventually
wouldn't hold a charge very long and I wanted some other features so
upgraded. My husband has the Versa, also, and seems to have no issues.
But he doesn't wear it very often and I don't think he's ever set up
notifications or done updates.

Did a hard reset and it actually looked like it was going to pair up to my phone again. Gave me the 4 digit code, the tried to connect to my WiFi. I mis-entered  my password and that ended that. Tried to go back and start over and no luck. Now, if I’m lucky, I get the 4 digit code again but it only displays for about a second and when I enter it it doesn’t work. Very disappointing..

Wow, that's terrible! You've got nothing to lose....try another factory
reset and see what happens. Mine didn't want to connect to wifi after the
update but it finally did. Our wifi has been spotty the past couple of
weeks but once it connected, it has maintained so far.

I feel your pain! Fitbit Versa has turned out to be garbage. This is the
last one I'll ever own!

Just wanted you to know Ionic is any better. I tried it last time and it
too stops the Bluetooth connection. Had it replaced too.

Problem is you have to do the factory reset from a functioning Versa. I’m stuck in the initial pairing part of the setup after the first factory reset so I don’t even have that screen to select at this point.
