I have had my new Fitbit Versa for almost a month. I have had problems with it dropping Bluetooth connection since day one. I had a Blaze previously and i never had this issue. It’s very frustrating and I have tried resetting and restarting it. Any suggestions before I return it?

@Anastasia8 your Versa 2 will only turn on its WiFi when it is on its charger and charging.

Thanks for confirming Rich...I was going to say Wi-Fi's purpose is only as a back-up. It allows you to update your Fitbit device's software and download music more efficiently if you have a Versa or Versa 2. It is not the main communication method.
I also wanted to update that like others.my V2 has had instances (when battery was under 50%) where it wouldn't sync even with the Versa2 listed at the top of my phone's Bluetooth device list. There are 2 things that got it syncing...1) Shutting down my V2 by going to settings and then scrolling to the bottom "About" and hit "Shutdown"...this is NOT reset and you will not lose data if you shutdown before syncing. After about a minute I press the left button to restart the V2. 2) I then go to my phone and turn off BlueTooth and then turn it back on. I then go to the Fitbit app and check if syncing automatically started or if I need to manually resync. All has worked out fine doing this.
The next advice I read somewhere was that the device does not liked to be totally drained and recharged. It is better to recharge in short increments. As a result, I charge it when it hits 50%. I find it works best to charge it for 30 mins or so while I watch TV every 2-3 days. Also I read you should not charge it overnight...8 hours is too long and could hurt the battery. I dont know if this is really true but I have had decent luck with the more frequent short charges.
Hope this helps!

Update: Is another paired Bluetooth device causing a syncing problem? Like many of you, my V2 continued to have sporadic syncing problems. In addition I was having a battery draining problem on my LGV20 phone. After changing out my phone's battery, I noticed all my Bluetooth Pairings were were gone. I was pretty ticked. The only device I was concerned about was the V2 and I cant recall if I had to manually re-pair it or if it reconnected on its own but after that all was great! No syncing problems at all...I would wake up in the morning and all my sleep stuff was there by the time I checked. So I started re-pairing other devices...the van, 3 different speakers...and still all was working great. Then I re-paired a set of cheap wireless earbuds. That's when the syncing stopped. The last sync occurred right before I re-paired the earbuds and all I was getting was the red ! when I tried to sync. Right after I unpaired the earbuds, my V2 paired and has been working as expected since. In my case the name brand Bluetooth connections (Sony, UE Boom, Honda) did not cause a problem but the no-name brand did. Still have more pairings to do but at least now I know what to watch out for. Hope this helps someone!

What do you mean by hold Bluetooth @Anastasia8
Your tracker should be seen under the list of trusted (paired) devices.
It should only show as connected during a sync and some other form of transfer like retrieving weather.
Ocaisionly there is a problem and the Fitbit app will ask for permission to connect.
@musicsprt6 your getting off the subject, but the Versa 3 Controls link up as easy as a Bluetooth speaker. And should say paired in both the phone and tracker. It also will only connect slurring an incoming call.

Hi @Anastasia8 does your Versa show as paired in the phones Bluetooth?
@musicsprt6 you say that you can not see Versa 3 controls through the phones Bluetooth.
On the Versa 3, swipe to settings, Tap, swipe up to Vibration and Audio, tap, swipe up. Under Manage Devices tap Music Controls & on Wrist Calls.
Let's turn off Versa 3 Controls if they are on.
Turn on Versa 3 controls, the phone should see Versa 3 controls as an available device. Tap and confirm the number.
The Versa 3 controls should now show as a paired(trusted) device.
On the Versa 3 the controls should say paired.
You now should be able to answer a call from the wrist.

Yes apparently it has been a while since the weather was updated and why you are seeing this issue.
When you pull up weather you get the message that weather needs to sync and at this time weather reaches out to the phone and requests an update. Within a minute the current weather should appear.

This happens to me every month or so and i find it extremely frustrating and a huge waste of my time to get my versa 3 connected back to my cell..fit bit app. Seriously very annoying. I returned my versa 3 once thinking it was a lemon but same problem happening with new one.

The fitbit app is responsible for connecting to Bluetooth.
Open the fitbit app and it will at some point request permission to pair.

I have done all the suggested remedies. Nothing works. My phone Galaxy S10e, I have uninstalled and reinstalled turned the blue tooth off and back on and the app does not find my Versa Lite. So I uninstalled it from my phone and installed the app on my Windows 10 Computer. It still doesn't work. In fact I tried doing a blue tooth search and it doesn't even show up as an available device, so that I can't even pair it that way. This happens every time you do a firmware update. Customer service has replaced my Versa Lite twice because of it. I got the watch for Christmas 2019. It went out in March 2020 and July 2020 they were replace both of those times. It went out in October and I was so frustrated I just set it aside. In December I picked it up and for some reason I was able to link it again. Now it is out again after the update on March 26, 2021. It has to be the Versa Lite because I am not having a issues pairing any other devices. Even my Husbands Charge 2 shows up as an available device. But my Versa Lite does not. I am NOT Happy with Fitbit Right Now.

Hi @Terryknud your tracker is a BT Low Energy device, it is normal for a BY scan to not find it. Even if the BT scan does don't the tracker, the tracker will reject the pair attempt.
The Fitbit app is responsible for Bluetooth management.
Not sure what has tried,
Restart phone and tracker?
Power off phone and traveler.
Cleared the got its app cache.
Removed tracker from phones Bluetooth.
Tried these steps.
