I am updating my new Versa for the first time and it says it's going to take 1300+ mins till complete. Is this normal?

Have tried so many times to update my versa and have devoted so much time. Are the updates cumulative or do they do every one?
ensured connected to wireless, watch In charger, rebooted both phone and watch, positioned next to router. Tried Bluetooth...
just keeps downloading and installing.

Still updating, why?
UPDATE:
- For some reason, my post is showing as solved and accepted solution.
I have followed all of the steps and invested substantial time trying to update my versa.
i would like a call from support to resolve this.
thank you
UPDATE 2:
The accepted solution is not working. You can keep saying that, but I have followed the instructions. It will not get past 3/4 of the update.

I'm also having issues with my Versa update. It has been "updating" for 4 hours and is not even half way. I am using my work WI-FI but it keeps not working, so I switched to bluetooth and it at least connects but it so so slow. This is ridiculous! Why won't it stay connected to the Wifi? I have the fitbit charging and the phone and fitbit are right next to each other.

Any luck?
I am having the same problem, I've just got a Versa yesterday, try update with wifi, it does not work. I restarted both phone and watch. Remove versa from my account, added it again, all the instructions shown here. Via wifi failed, via Bluetooth is going on for 6 hours with 1%.

yesterday after a long time trying via Bluetooth I gave up, and them at home with wi-fi I removed the app from the cell phone and re-installed it, and it worked. I have no idea why, better internet signal this time??
It makes no sense. I was ready to returned it to Costco. Now I will see how it works.

I'm sure you're a great mod Marco, but this is not user error. The versa takes hours to update (maybe days if i was patient enough). Using bluetooth, WiFi or any other means. It's pretty ridiculous; and I can only hope it is known (read: prioritized) issue internally. A massive barrier to anyone that is eager to make use of the wonderful product that you sell.
My mom has a $250 tiny brick that sits on her wrist because we don't have days to wait patiently.
Nevermind the fact that she was unable to complete set-up without a mobile device. (i'll get over that because it's 2019, but still, mobile device is required to complete setup? geeezers)

I've read through how to update my firmware. After multiple attemps including restarting phone, rebooting versa, unpairing and pairing watch, connecting to local wifi, it have taken 3 weeks to update my versa and is still not complete updating the firmware. I dont know how much longer it's going to take. Please help!

I had the same problem the first time I tried to update it, next day it worked in 10 min. I have no idea why. Try to contact costumer service at fitbit, if it does not work, and you can just return it where you got it.

This morning at 0430 i had an alert on the app that there is an update for Versa. Since then I am trying to update but it is extremely slow. Its been nearly 5 hours now. If the update does not work with bluetooth then why have that option?? Just remove it and ask users to connect wifi directly. Not sure what is the problem now but its painful.

I would love to hear the answer to this question. I have been trying to update my Versa since last night, using the app on my Android phone and trying to use the app on my iPad. I'm getting nowhere. I've been have a huge problem the last few days with battery draining very, very fast and was hoping the update could fix that issue. Very disappointed with both these problems.

We’ve been trying the versa lite for the past 14 hours to do this update. Look like it’s half way complete. Very frustrating. Anyone out there who can help? The watch is less than a week old. And operating the latest iOS on iPhone

I'm the same here I've been trying to update mine for 5days and still no joy I wouldn't mind though they sent me a new one out and it's still not updating. Only bought this in June. The support went through everything with me then after being in touch with them everyday going through the same troubleshooting they say it's the actual App I seriously do not believe that for one minute
