Versa update is taking too long

I am updating my new Versa for the first time and it says it's going to take 1300+ mins till complete. Is this normal?

Update via laptop was prob less than an hour. But I had been trying to update via Bluetooth for 48hrs before that.

Mine download is going on 5 hours now and still isn't finished. I'm hoping it will be done before I have to go to work tonight.

I have still not been able to update my Versa. It takes forever and then I get the error message that the update failed. I’ve given up on it.

I removed my Versa Lite from the Fitbit app, I disconnected bluetooth, restarted my phone a few times, exited the Fitbit app several times, tried home wifi, tried bluetooth, and tried my phone network wifi.. the update took about 3 days (it seemed to keep disconnecting). Finally after removing my versa lite and re-uploading the Fitbit app, I can tell my watch is connected to my phone and the app is trying to update it. It's at 100% but just keeps loading on the app and the watch just keeps flipping between the initial interface of "download the Fitbit app" in several languages with the teal dots to the dots turning gray. Trying to be patient but just not sure what to do next. I use my watch for work every weekday and have not been able to do so this week 😕

Just want a simple not hour-long/ day-long solution.

I have the iPhone 7 with the latest iOS 13.2.2

I have the Fitbit version 3.10

Hope you can help. Thank you!

Have you tried running the update through a laptop or pc? That’s how it finally worked for us. I downloaded the Windows app onto our laptop. It was quick too

Brand new Inspire HR - Same issue, and, it keeps connecting and disconnecting. If this firmware update needs to be done often, they need to figure out how to speed it up. Thank god for amazon, as I think it's going to be a return.

I tried all of these attempts and more but my Fitbit just WONT update. It is very disappointing since I spent a lot of money on it. If there is any more attempts I can try, please let me know. It is just a pain in the butt. I spent 2 days on trying to get it to work but it won’t.

I had the same issue. I think the issue relates to a problem setting up the WiFi settings during initial set-up. Although everything was correctly entered, it just repeatedly failed to connect to my home WiFi and resorting to bluetooth was just excruciating slow. Eventually after looking through the forums, I abandoned the update and redid the network setting manually as described at https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2233?p=versa&c=Topics%3ATroubleshooting&l=en_US&...

After this, reinitiating the update when fine. Maybe Fitbit shouldn't try forcing an update on new users until they have completed the initial set-up and confirmed that WiFi connection is stable.

So sorry but I can't suggest anything else .it's ridiculous but try getting on to Fitbit support because they sent me a new one out

Hi everyone,

Once you sort the wifi connection then the update is quick. People are
trying all sorts of complex ways. Try to keep it simple.

Mine was taking way too long so I plugged my i phone into the charger at work where we have fast internet, kept my bluetooth on and wifi both on, and kept my fitbit turned on. The only small change I made was to go into the display settings in my i phone and select keep my screen turned on instead of going off after 1 minute. That seemed to be my fix because my update bar on my fitbit screen is moving faster, it's over halfway now.

I’m having the same problem. Only issue is it’s being updated since Friday morning first thing. I can’t turn the Bluetooth off or it won’t update. I’m absolutely sick of it now. I wish I never started this stupid update and regret it very much

Hi,

I'm having the same issue as @BookGirl06 and am new to using a fitbit, but the update seem to be stuck near the end and I tried to force-quit but that does change anything
