When will Fitbit be compatible with the iPhone X?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I was told Fitbit isn't compatible with the iPhone x  or ios 11.

Fitbit rep stated they don't  know when there will be an update to fix this.

I can't even use the gps to map my walks. This is very upsetting.

I was able to get my Blaze working by following the steps outlined by Marco. I tried pairing without restarting my IPhone X but it did not work until I did.

Very frustrated.  Just received a new Alta HR, and can’t get it to pair or be recognized by my iPhone X.

i have tried all the procedures and steps listed here, including restarting the Fitbit and phone multiple times.  Restarting Bluetooth, etc.  Nothing has worked.  Probably spent 2 hours trying and also talking to tech support for about :45

iPhone X is running 11.1.2

Fitbit app is version 2.43.1 (732)

customer support says iPhone X is not supported and currently not compatible.

they suggested I use another device, like a computer.  Seriously?

give me a break.  I’ll be sending this back for a refund.

Hello @Wentwest, I hope you're doing well, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

First of all, I'm deeply sorry for the inconveniences you've experienced with your tracker not syncing with the iPhone X. Please keep in mind the iPhone X is still not on our list of supported devices. Our team is still testing it out and we will provide an update once it is fully supported.

In the meantime, when setting up your tracker please check these points:

  • Make sure your tracker is fully charged
  • Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere with the setup process.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

So basically Fitbit just isn’t compatible with iPhone 8 or iPhone X regardless of all the money Fitbit makes from their over priced trackers I can’t understand why they failed at updating their software to work even though these iPhones has been out for 3 months now. The iPhone 8 is basically the exact same as iPhone 7 and the only difference on the X is the Face ID so what is causing the problem of not being able to sync?  It’s almost as if they just don’t want them to work. I’ve already returned my Fitbit Ionic because I didn’t pay $300 for a paperweight plus the bands would easily separate from the watch anyway. The Blaze was much better.

Fitbit may not have “certified” the iPhone X yet, but it works fine as far as I can tell.  I linked my wife’s Alta HR and Charge HR to her new iPhone X last week.  No problems at all.

Agree.  Since the app was updated a few days ago it now works fine with my Charge2

I, too, have a friend who was able to get his to pair, but unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be uniformly working for all iPhone X users, hence the “not supported” status.

it’s unfortunate that my earlier post was censored.  It was civil, if somewhat critical.

Markfeinholz-- I had the exact same problem as you and wrote about it on
this board.
After the most recent iOS update (a few days ago) I tried pairing again b/c
someone else posted that the most recent update fixed it) and voila!! It
paired in a nanosecond -- before I could even bring my wrist close to my
iphone X, it detected my Charge 2 HR and I successfully paired it. Make
sure you're running 11.1.2 and then try pairing again.

Im using the Fitbit Alta hr. Update is the iOS 11.1.2. I downloaded the Fitbit app. Mine isn’t registering the hr on the app or my steps but it is on the Fitbit itself. But under my Bluetooth setting, it’s not finding the device.

Once the update came out for iOS, then it would finally pair. The phone wouldn’t even pair with my vehicle until the new update came. Now everything is good!

Dear Marco:

I have read the forum concerning the new Iphone X. I just set one up. I also had trouble pairing my Fitbit HR. I followed your instructions. I also erased the device on the Fitbit app. I then set it up again. My Fitbit synced without issue. It still does not show up in the list of Bluetoooth devices. The app is working fine in the background. I assume it is just not displaying on the Iphone list.

I had IOS 11 on an Iphone 7. The Fitbit displayed on that phone. I have to assume that the issue is with the Iphone X not the app.

I just thought you would like to know.

Yeah once I did the update, everything paired up just fine. Pretty sure that was the issue. Same with my car. Did the update, then it paired just fine. ☺️

I just got my iPhone X the other day. Everything is updated. I cannot get my Fitbit to sync at all. I have tried everything suggested above. Very frustrating

I am not an expert, but I was able to solve this problem for me. I followed
the instructions on this forum to no avail.

Please try the following:

1. I went to the top right corner to account.
2. Erase your device from account
3. Sign out of the app.
4. I then deleted the app.
5. I turned off the bluetooth.
6. I shutdown the Iphone X(Click the Up volume, then the Down volume,
followed by the side button).
7. Slide button to shutdown.
8. Restart phone
9. Turn on Bluetooth.
10. Reinstall the Fitbit App.

Sign back in. It should walk you through setting up a new device. The
Fitbit device still not show up in devices on the Bluetooth menu.
I assume this is an Apple problem. The Fitbit App. should sink without a
problem in the background.

Good luck. There maybe an easier way, but this worked the first time for me.
