When will Fitbit be compatible with the iPhone X?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I was told Fitbit isn't compatible with the iPhone x  or ios 11.

Fitbit rep stated they don't  know when there will be an update to fix this.

I can't even use the gps to map my walks. This is very upsetting.

Hello @Mitchelz and @M_lynn, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, thanks for joining the conversation. Smiley Happy

@Mitchelz, thanks for bringing this to my attention. At this moment if your tracker is not being recognized by the app, please make sure the tracker has been set up by going to Account and check if the Alta is showing under your name. If it's not showing, please follow these steps to add it as a new device:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone; wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal and that there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere with the setup process.
  3. Restart your Versa by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen, then try to set up again.
  4. If you can't set up after a restart, reboot your phone or tablet and try to set up again.
  5. If you can't set up after the reboot, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your phone or tablet and try to set up the Versa one more time.

@M_lynn, if your Charge 2 is not able to receive Notifications, please make sure it's not currently in the Do Not Disturb (DND) mode by pressing down the button 2 seconds. A vibration and a message will let you know if DND has been turned off or on. If DND is off but the Charge 2 is still not receiving Notifications, please try the following:

  • Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and tap on tracker. Then tap on Forget this Device.
  • Force-close the Fitbit app
  • Open the app again and tap on Account > Your Tracker > Notifications.
  • Once you get back to the tracker options, tap on Notifications an enable the ones you'd like to receive.

Additionally, go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and make sure the following is enabled:

  • Allow Notifications
  • Show on Lock Screen
  • Show in History
  • Show as Banners (Temporary)

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

How did u do it I downloaded the app and I can’t get the steps to sync with the phone

Am I missing something here?  I am using my iPhone 10 with my Fitbit One (you remember, the scourge that everyone wants to trash?).   My iPhone 10 (X) has worked well with my older Fitbit One but maybe I am too dense to know that it is all screwed up?  What should I be looking for in the way of  a malfunction?  I find that I can easily edit my sleep records by extending the usage range for a given sleep period, all within reason, of course.

Hello @BridgetRN, thanks for joining the conversation, it's great to have you on board the Fitbit Community. It's nice to see you as well @CharliebartSmiley Happy

@BridgetRN, thanks for bringing this to my attention, if you're having trouble syncing your tracker, please try the following:

  • Make sure the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone.
  • The software on your mobile device is up to date. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
  • Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time.
  7. If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
  8. If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

@Charliebart, are you having any trouble related to your Fitbit One and your iPhone X? If so, please let me know so I can assist you further.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, give it a try and let me know the outcome!

It's been a while since I got mine working and I don't remember for sure but I think what finally worked for me was deleting the fitbit app from my phone and re-installing it.  Hope that helps!

I am currently using my Fitbit One on an iPhone X and other than the usual “electronic things’ hate me, I haven’t detected any problems. If it is incompatible, I can’t detect it. (Any problems I have had tend to be

associated with, as yet, unknown problems with reception in my apartment.)

No one has given me the time of day with regard to finding answers as to why I should be having 'intermittent fade outs' in the signal (less than 5-10 seconds).

That is just enough to make it difficult to follow incoming and outgoing conversations.

Unfortunately, I can’t get Apple, ATT (my provider) nor management of the facility to initiate any action to find out why this should occur. I really think this my be a general condition in this building but I am the only one

that is complaining about it.

I have an Ionic.  I've has it synced to my iPhone 6s for the past year.  I just bought an iPhone XS.  It wont sync. It finds it but wont connect.  I've done every suggested (Ive turned everything off; reset the Ionic; updated software) and it still wont connect.  But then when I turn my iPhone 6s back on, and turn the bluetooth back on, it connects back to it with no problem.  While this is a good interim solution, I dont carry this phone with me or really use it otherwise, so i planned to return it to Apple.

All sorts of problems with the Apple X anything! I get call alerts and calendar but the reason i bought it was to look at texts. So i am going with Apple Watch! I need a new Fitbit but don’t want to spend the money knowing it’s not going to work. I know android phones do not have a problem. I’m splurging for once in my life! That way i can text back or answer calls without needing my phone!

Good luck i totally get it! Loved Fitbit ever since i bought one but not keeping up with the iOS technology!

Hello @Douglas2mj, I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around. Welcome to the Fitbit Community @BrooklynPaul, it's great to see new faces around! Smiley Happy

@BrooklynPaul, I appreciate you have reported this situation to us and for providing many details about it. Judging by the information provided, it seems your Ionic is still linked to your iPhone 6S, in which case I would like to suggest you to go to the phone's Bluetooth Settings and check if the Ionic is listed as a paired device. If it is, tap on it and "remove it". After that, open the Fitbit app on your iPhone XS and try to sync.

@Douglas2mj, I understand your concern about not being able to receive alerts and Notifications. At this moment I would like to gather some information from you so I can check this further:

  1. Which watch or tracker are you currently using?
  2. OS version running on your phone.
  3. App version currently installed on your phone (go to Account > Help to get it.)
  4. List of troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting to hear from you.

@MarcoGFitbitI followed your instructions, but it still wont connect.  I removed the Ionic from the iPHONE6s.   I then opened the Fitbit app on my iPhone XS and tried to sync.  Instead of connecting, I get this message:  "Connection Unsuccessful - Make sure the "Ionic" is turned on and in range."  I actually tried twice, the second time was after resetting the Ionic.  Still didn't work

UPDATE:

@MarcoGFitbit  actually... I tried again.  it worked.  I needed to go into my bluetooth settings on my XS first and "forget the Ionic".  It was listed as a "not connected" device from an earlier unsuccessful attempt.  Once I removed it from the Bluetooth setting I was able to go into the Fitbit app and set it up fresh from there.

Hello @ianradloff, I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for joining the conversation. We're sorry to hear about your lost tracker. We recommend the following tips to find it:

- If you've paired your Fitbit tracker with a mobile device, you can take that device to the area where your tracker may have been lost and watch for it to sync. This may help you to pinpoint its location.
- If you sync with a computer, check your dashboard to see the last time your tracker synced. If it synced recently, it is within 20 feet of your computer.

- If you have a clip-based tracker, look near your laundry. Many people who clip their tracker onto clothing find that it ends up in the dirty clothes pile.
- Use a Bluetooth locator app. For iOS you can try LightBlue - Bluetooth Low Energy (http://goo.gl/bAB5ST).

Let us know if you still can't find your tracker in a few days and we'll see what else we can do to help, have a great day.

I have an iPhone XS after upgrading from an iPhone 6 and I can definitely say there is a compatibility issue with the X series and Fit bit Alta HR. on the iPhone 6 it would sync fine, not the iPhone XS.

After doing the initial pairing it works and synchronizes fine.

After some time (my phone also went out of bluetooth range) the fitbit never establishes bluetooth connectivity again. I have to lose all my data and reestablish the pairing.

Doing the same thing on the iPhone 6 I don't have this problem.

Both phones are updated to the latest iOS version they support.

I also tried restarting the fitbit with no improvement - only removing and adding it in the fitbit app gets it to work again (after I've lost my data).
