When will Fitbit be compatible with the iPhone X?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I was told Fitbit isn't compatible with the iPhone x  or ios 11.

Fitbit rep stated they don't  know when there will be an update to fix this.

I can't even use the gps to map my walks. This is very upsetting.

Hey Marco,

- Alta version 21.40.2

- iOS 11.2.1 on X

- app 2.44.2

Problem:

App not syncing with my Alta. The phone is not finding it through bluetooth- It just says looking. My Aria 2 info updates, but that is of course via wi-fi.

Tried deleting and putting app back on that didn’t work. Tried deleting Alta from app and now it won’t reconnect at all.

Hello @Zglobalnomad, thanks for joining the conversation, it's a pleasure for me to welcome you to the Fitbit Communtiy. Smiley Happy

I appreciate the information you have provided and also for letting me know the troubleshooting steps you have tried in order to try to resolve this issue. Please note that Fitbit trackers do not sync directly through the Bluetooth on your phone but through the Fitbit app. If you have already removed the tracker from the app and the tracker is unable to be set up again, please follow these steps:

  1. Restart your Alta, then leave it plugged in and charging.
  2. Restart your phone.
  3. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  5. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  6. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.
  7. When a pop up appears asking you to pair your tracker to your phone, tap on Pair and continue.

Additionally, please make sure you have a strong WiFi signal and that there are no other Bluetooth devices around when setting up the tracker.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

This did not work.  How do I set up FitBit Charge 2 HR and Alta HR with iphone x.  Not working and I tried all the recommendations.  Now the phone will not set up the tracker after I disconnected.  The tracker still syncs with my old iphone 6 and with my computer, just not with the iphone x.

Hello @Goodday, thanks for joining us, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have tried the troubleshooting steps provided in order to try to sync your Charge 2 and Alta HR with your iPhone X. I have noticed you mentioned the trackers still sync with your old iPhone 6, which might be why they are not syncing correctly with the iPhone X.

At this moment I would like to suggest you to go to your iPhone 6 Bluetooth settings, then look for Charge 2 and Alta HR on the list of paired devices. If they are here, tap on them and select Forget this Device. Turn off the Bluetooth on your phone and then try to sync using your iPhone X. The reason the iPhone X is not able to sync is because a Bluetooth bond was established with the old iPhone, now that the bond has been removed the tracker will be able sync with the new iPhone. Please note that you might be asked to form a new Bluetooth bond with the iPhone X, when a pop-up appears asking you to Pair the tracker with the phone, tap on PAIR to establish a new bond.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Corporate drivel.

This problem has NOT been corrected and the only response from Fitbit is this same ole meaningless message thanking everyone for "bringing this to my attention" while the known issue persists without any corrective measures.

I'm not quite sure which issue are you referring you, the Fitbit app is now compatible with the iPhone X and you can find it in our list of compatible devices. However, if you're having trouble syncing or setting up a tracker I encourage you to reply to me with the name of the Fitbit tracker you're having trouble with so I can help you further.

I appreciate your participation in the Community forums, I'll be waiting for your reply. Smiley Wink

Hi. My iPhone 6s+ paired fine with my Ionic. But I got a new iPhone X and that will not sync with the Ionic. I’ve restarted both devices, turned off Bluetooth and turned it back on...still failing. Is anyone else still not able to sync?

Hello @josh1283, it's a pleasure for me to welcome you to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

If your tracker has been paired to your iPhone 6+ before, it's possible there's still a Bluetooth link between that phone and your tracker which is preventing the tracker from syncing with your new iPhone X. In order to resolve this please follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your old phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Turn off your iPhone 6+ and try to sync with your iPhone X.
  3. If it's not syncing, go to Account > Ionic  and enable All-day Sync.
  4. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. At this moment I would like to suggest you to reset Notifications from the Fitbit app following these steps:

- Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and tap on tracker. Then tap on Forget this Device.

- Force-close the Fitbit app by double tapping the home button on your phone and swiping up the app.

- Open the app again and tap on Account > Your Tracker > Notifications. You will receive the following Pop-up:

- Then, once you tap on Set Up, the app will begin setting up your tracker with the Bluetooth on your phone, which will prompt the next pop-up:

- Tap Pair

- Once you get back to the tracker options, tap on Notifications an enable the ones you'd like to receive.

I did everything again and still no messages come through! In notifications i have it set up for calls and messages and then messages i have person and part of text can come through. This isn’t the only app that is giving me problems either! I am just thinking iPhone X even though cool is exhausting for some apps. If you think of anything else, please let me know. I appreciate your quick feedback! I love Fitbit and am able to compete with my friends and all of the features!
Thank you again!!!
