hey!
the bluetooth of my charge2 stopped working all of a sudden, sometimes it shows up on my bluetooth list, sometimes it doesn't, in the app it just shows that its searching the device.. I tried restarting the tracker, my phone, turning bluetooth on and off, deleting every bluetooth device in my list, idk what to do anymore. everything is updated. the tracking device itself still works perfectly, the problem seems to be the bluetooth on the tracker, my iPhone still connects to other bluetooth devices.
any advice is appreciated. thanks in advance.

I had the same problem and after combing through all the official ways to fix this and having none of them work, all I did was the following in the iPhone Fitbit mobile app :
I'm hoping this works with other models.

I have the same issues.
Ive been with Fitbit for a long time; this is a Bluetooth Bug in the App for sure. This Bluetooth issue looks like its Fitbit Device wide and Across all App platforms; be it Apple, Android or Windows.
Being a Techy, Luckily; I understand better than most how to troubleshoot these issues. Though sadly it only gives relief for a very small moment, only to break again.
Steps to Close App/Re-open App, reboot iPhone and Restart Fitbit device doesnt work. Turning off Bluetooth and re-enabling doesnt work. Nor telling Bluetooth on iOS to forget device, then re-discover in finding device to re-pair/re-discover - this is a temp fix only. Its shows connected again - looks like its fixed, works for a short while but keeps dropping to disconnect and not stay working.
Deleting the App and Re-downloading then re-signing into account to resync data - ‘only temporarily helps‘ for about 1hr, if your lucky.
Its been weeks since the heart rate worked properly showing Live in the App stats.
So many things are broken, Sync being the main issue, due to Bluetooth dropping and not reconnecting on its own, thats why it couldn’t show live stats.
Insert Rant: Please Fitbit. Get a grip. There are many complaints about this same issue on nearly all of your Fitbit devices both older and newer models. I have just spent over 1hr reading many different Fitbit forum post areas. iOS, Andriod, Windows, it would seem ‘all Fitbit wearables seem to be affected’ by this same Bluetooth bug.
Rather than have so people get very frustrated time and time again; trying many different workarounds for their Fitbits only too receive a temp fix, Why not be transparent and Pin an Acknowledgment on the top of the main Forum area. That its come to your attention - theres an issue with Bluetooth and Syncing and your team is working on it.
Your users would appreciate ‘honesty an transparency’ with much less buggering about for everyone. We understand things go wrong, so your assistance saving people more added stress wouldn't go unnoticed 🙂
Hopefully these issues will be ironed out soon. I loved my Fitbit up until just over a year ago. Out of frustration, I purchased an Apple Watch & now wear both, because my beloved Fitbit failed so much.
In all honesty: I like the Fitbit Dash better; when it works! Apples data is more complex, but the Apple Watch always works, Fitbit has better battery life, those perks are about it.
The Fitbit device/app has too many bugs and doesn't show true results anymore unfortunately, so many areas need fixing; Sadly to many too list, one thing gets fixed and many others break.
PLEASE: Fitbit take note of how many people have given up on their Fitbits over the recent years. When we loved them!
You’ll see Analytics of how many users are no longer active. Even us loyal Fitbit users, whom have also purchased for our families and friends; only to have them end up
saying; ‘theres no use wearing it - because they experienced too many issues and frustrations‘ plus not getting proper support and it not always fixing said issues; because they cant be fixed properly; until the App bugs gets fixed in a future update etc.
@JD1515 Has your work-around stayed fixed for you? or is it temporary also?
Btw: Good post 😉
Sorry for the above Rant people.
Im hoping by listing the above, some users will not have to go through the added stress of trying many things; and keep trying many times over; when the same issues keep happening. 2020 has made our lives stressful enough.
Fitbit know they will have to work on this issue. Theres too many complaints in the forum not to address it. So I’m sure the App developers are working on the App already; perhaps a Firmware update push also?
Lüv & Peace 2Ü all.

Hi there,
After I made sure I was updated/patched to the latest iOS update and performed the steps I outlined to re-add my Fitbit, I haven’t had any issues since. It actually seems to be syncing faster now and I’m not sure if it has to do with Apple’s recent iOS patch. I hope things work out for you and those who still dealing with this.
I only had this issue for a 24 hour period and that was upsetting enough, especially after seeing how many people are still experiencing this issue. I have an Apple Watch but didn’t went to go back to using it.
Just in case this helps, the hardware I’m using is as follows: the iPhone 7 Plus and the Fitbit Charge 2. Older models of both and I’m not sure if this information makes any difference in the grand scheme of things.
