iOS 11 beta, Fitbit app crash

Well, it only figures I should have tread a bit more carefully in beta waters. =(

I am trying out dev beta of iOS 11. As of so far, all of the apps I use have been working well. Along with only one other app (that I cannot think of which it is) that I use, the Fitbit app also keeps crashing on my iPhone. It has worked seamlessly throughout iOS 10 of course. But iOS 11 is not playing nice with Fitbit. I have even hard-reset my iPhone with iOS 11, started from scratch and installed Fitbit app. No cure. I hope somebody over in Fitbit app developer land is aware of this issue, and a fix comes soon. Thanks.

OK EVERYBODY.......

I thank everybody who has ever posted to this forum's topic. It's helpful, interesting and insightful.

The first issue was the Fitbit app crashing altogether when trying to get into it, using iOS 11 betas. That was solved (at least for me, mostly others)

The second issue was the iPhone notifications (text, calendar, etc..) not coming up on the Fitbit band. That too, is now solved!! (at least for me, maybe others)

I am now on the recently released 5th developer beta of iOS 11 (15A5341f), and I have no further problems, to the best of my knowledge. The notifications issue was solved with the 4th dev beta release. Those still with issues of notifications not happening, perhaps you need to go further into the beta releases.

Good luck all!!

Many app developers will release their iOS 11-compatible apps closer to the official launch of iOS 11 (probably late September). Considering that Fitbit has started a beta community (beta.fitbit.com), I wouldn't be surprised if they have a beta in the coming weeks for an updated iOS app.

I can’t add my charge 2 to the app. Using iOS latest beta. My charge HR works

I’ve not been having issues for a while. Dev Beta 9 and Public Beta 8 work flawlessly for me with my Blaze.

The final consumer  builds of iOS 11 should be available to general public shortly after Sept 12th Apple Event.

Hi,

I‘m now using the iOS 11 GM  but the crash still seems to be happening even if I turn off  Bluetooth. The app freezes and becomes completely unresponsive before I even have time to remove be device. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Thanks

Ryann

After updating to iOS11 now I need to login into the app everytime I want to look after my daily activity.

Anyone knows hot to fix this, so that I do not need to login everytime?

I just upgraded to iOS11 and Fitbit will not sync with an error message saying my bluetooth is not on (it is on). I tried removing the device and install again, but when I got to the agreement part nothing happens when I click on the "Agree" button!!!!!!!!

Please solve this problem, Fitbit. Thank you!

I had many issues all through the beta versions of iOS 11. However, I did delete the app and re-install and it worked perfectly. Might be worth a try...

Thank you so much for the solution!!! I reinstalled the APP it finally
worked.

Although it took a very long time and very frustrating to get the bluetooth
paired with my Charge 2, but after 1-2 hours of trying they finally
successfully paired up.

I don't know if this pairing issue is a Fitbit problem or iPhone bluetooth
problem, but I found the same problem when pairing my wife's Charge 2.

I followed the suggestion on the iPhone 6 screen when pairing both of our
Charge 2, but it still not guaranteed to work and took us many tries just
to get the bluetooth paired up.

Fitbit, please look into this problem. I don't know if it's just me or it's
a common issue on the bluetooth pairing.

2017/10/10 update: I noticed that I have a hard time syncing with my Charge 2, and after many tries I found a work around that is to disable and enable bluetooth WITHIN THE APP.

Another problem is that if I uninstall the Fitbit App and install again, it will not be able to pair with my bluetooth. After many testing I found that this happens when I disable Cellular internet and use WIFI internet instead. After I turn off WIFI and turn on Cellular, they can pair up instantly. Very wierd but finally worked.

I solved the problem by returning the Charge 2.  Amazing how FitBit can't get this stuff right.  This was the second Charge 2 that I had bought recently.  Customer service tech said he had never heard of this problem and required me to send in a photo of the "Check FitBit App" screen!

Sounds like FitBit has a serious problem.

There is definitely something up with the fitbit app and the new ios 11 update. There seems to be nothing wrong with my tracker at all, but sometimes it will not sync until i either uninstall and reinstall the app or remove the device from the app and reconnect that way....very frustrating. Please have developers look into this. The app just sits and spins and won't sync all the time...other times, it works fine. Weird.

I have redownloaded and reconnected to the app several times in the past week...definitely thinking that it is something to do with the app.

Thanks. I sent the unit back to Amazon. They took it even though it was
past the 30-day window. FitBit seems entirely clueless about this issue.

Since updating my iPhone 5s to ios11 Fitbit will not connect via Bluetooth, do e the reset etc as per other people’s discussions but I am having to do this everyday! Surely there must be a final fix, I can’t be messing round like this everyday
