Fitbit Update 4/29
Please update to Fitbit iOS App version 2.22 if you haven't already. This App update should help with iOS exercise logs not updating. Click here to be redirected to the iOS App Store.
Fitbit Update 3/24
It was brought to our attention that some users' workouts aren't showing up on their iOS activity log, but are showing up on their Fitbit.com activity log.
This is a known issue that our team is currently investigating. Thanks in advance for everybody's patience.

When I added the exercise through the app it didn't work for me as well
However they where visible dashboard and there I could correct them to the correct sport if needed. The exercises never appeared on the app though. After a week a or 2 they suddenly appeared in the app again. Strange thing was that it wasn't through a new apple update or Fitbit app update

I'm having the same issue on an iPhone 5. Syncing worked perfectly whenever I added exercise to the app manually at the gym - until about a month ago. Stairclimber entries sync instantly. Ditto for Bike, Weights, Walk, and Scuba Diving - but any entry for 'Elliptical trainer' - does not sync now, and it used to. On the activity page - a dark pink bar appears with an exclaimation point in a circle, and "Try again to sync". Tapping that just leads to the message coming back - and on the Exercise summary page, "(not synced)" appears in red next to the exercise entry. All of the other activites listed above appear on the website page when I log into my account that way - but the Elliptical trainer ones do not. If I enter them manually on the website page, however, they sync in the other direction, and will show up on the iPhone app page within a minute. Annoying that it used to work and now doesn't.

I too am still having this problem. If I manually add an exercise in the IOS app I get the red "(not synced)". If I add the same excercise in the online dashboard it works and syncs back to the phone. Updated to the latest version of the app, v 2.21.1, and still have the problem on my iphone 6 v 9.3.1

SOLUTION (for me): I have passed this on to fit support today and they are passing it on to the developers. They agree this is the problem and hope this is the solution so hope this works for the rest of you.
When you go to track exercise you select your exercise category, then enter the time then enter the hours. Now this is where the problem exists. You now have a section below which almost looks like it is grayed out and says "calories". If you dont click that and fill out an estimate of calorie usage then it will not sync that exercise session with their servers (ie" Not synched - try again" message. Same as if you go online and try the same thing from the website. If you don't add the calories the "submit" button is greyed out until you do (that is how I twigged on to the solution). I never even noticed the calorie area on the IOS app and it must have been added in the mid march update.
In my opinion, it is rather studid they would add the calorie feature as how do we know whow many calories we are buring during our session. I have suggested they remove this from both the app and from the website.

Sorry to say, that is not the solution. I do enter the calories and I get the red not synced problem.

Sorry to hear that did not work for you. I tested it numerous times. When I did not add the calories it did not sync. I then deleted it. When I added the calories it did sync. Just tried it again it it worked just fine and mine has not worked since mid-march like many of the people on this thread.. Have you deleted the ones that have not synched and then tried the same ones again?

Of course I have. I tested a bunch of times as well and tried different things. It's clearly someting Fitbit needs to fix.

It appears I was overly optimistic except in my situation it worked. The only other thing I did differently was change my description of my morning exercise session to AM Workout thinking that possibley my title was too long. But in as of itself that did not make a difference. Maybe for others adding the calories will work.
