Hi there @LisaFC, good to see you around and I'm sorry to hear your Alta is not receiving notifications. THis indeed is an unexpected behavior since in my opinion the iOS is more stable for this feature.
I recommend to restart your tracker:
- Plug your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
- Clasp the other end of the cable to the port on the back of your Alta. Alta will begin charging.
- Press the button on your charging cable three times within eight seconds, briefly pausing between presses. The button is on the end of the charging cable that is plugged into your computer.
- Eight seconds after the first button press, you'll see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This means Alta is restarting.
- After you see the logo you can unplug your tracker from the charging cable.
Once you have restarted your tracker proceed to forget the device from your mobile device:
- On your mobile device, go to Settings > Bluetooth.
- Tap your tracker and then tap Forget Device
- Reboot your mobile device
And turn again the notifications:
- Open the Fitbit app and tap Account.
- Tap your tracker.
- Find an option to turn on your notifications.
Hope this helps and let me know how it goes.

I have been posting in this forum and have been working with customer service emails for a few days. Ever since the ios update, I have not been able to receive text or phone call notifications on my ALTA. I have followed all trouble shooting ideas, and have tried everything MANY times. I just had a second ios update show up on my phone and it did not fix the problem. I am reading that many people are getting replacements. I have asked on the emails, and keep getting sent more troubleshooting tips - which still won't work. I am frustrated. I know that I am probably not the only one having this issue. I want to know if anyone else has had this happen and found a fix for it. If not, how is everyone getting their ALTA replaced?
Thanks!
Lisa

Hi there @Chrissycarter, its nice to see you have joined the Fitbit Community. I was browsing around and I found your post, so let me help you with your inquiry to enable call/text notifications.
First you need to verify a few things on your mobile device: Find and tap the Settings option for a menu of device settings.
Review or adjust these settings:
- Check the Bluetooth and make sure it is on.
- Do not enable "Do Not Disturb". This feature prevents your mobile device from pushing notifications so make sure it is off.
- Your mobile device must get notifications before they can be sent to your tracker. Check these settings: Make sure Allow Notifications is on.
Now lets do the following:
- Open the Fitbit app and tap the small image of your tracker in the top left corner.
- Tap your tracker's name and then Notifications. If you're prompted to pair with your tracker, follow the instructions.
- Turn each notification category on or off depending on your preferences.
Once you have enable this option on your Fitbit app, turn the notifications on your tracker. (These option may vary depending of the tracker)
- Blaze—Hold the top right button for a couple seconds.
- Charge 2—On the clock screen, press and hold the button.
- Surge—Swipe the touchscreen until you get to the Settings menu, then find Notifications.
Hope this information helps. Let me know if you have additional questions.
