Hi
I can't set up family account to set up Childs ace 3
I bought a ace 3 for my daughter, im not a Fitbit user so had to set an account up 1st. I used my google account to log in. I set up my family how ever on my family it just say
to add children, make sure they're part of your family on Google, then set them up on Fitbit, their name will appear
I have made my daughter a account on my account as she is only 5 and added her to my family on google but nothing is showing up in my family on Fitbit app
please can someone help
thanks

Thanks @Thharrison11, your procedure works perfectly!
Little side note, in some regions it is not possible to create a child account either on Google Sign Up page or through the Family Link app ("add a child" button not displayed at step 5.2). This is the case in the province of Quebec for some reason... The workaround I used is:
1- I changed my Google account address for one outside of Quebec in my personal info section (myaccount.google.com/personal-info) -> anywhere in Canada is fine except Quebec as per the Google Family app support agent I spoke with
+
2- I used a VPN to appear as if I was in this other area
From that point on, I was able to follow @Thharrison11 procedure from 5.2 until the end successfully. Now I will have to test if everything works with VPN switched off and address reverted back. Let's hope everything works easily once the initial pairing and setup is completed.
Hope it helps!

This did not work for me and I worked on this for hours today. But the following finally worked to set up one Ace 3.
Instead of using my child's already set up google account, which just had me stuck in a loop that said I was not able to sign in because it was a workspace or supervised account, I did the following
launch the app
select use another account
create account
I was then able to complete the directions as set up here: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2346.htm?Highlight=setup%20ace

This worked for me, after hours of yelling an feeling like I wanted to bang down both Fitbit and googles doors. Why on earth make it so difficult for a childs device!! And on top of that, rely on customers to fix the issue, not actually fix it themselves. Now I have 2 profiles for my son and had to install the app on a different device I didnt want it on. What an absolute failure. I will definitely be reconsidering brands the next round of updates we do. Thank you Spinless for providing better support then the company who sells the product.

My sister bought this for my daughter's 6th birthday. She loves the way it looks.. She's crying her heart out because we need to return this absolute joke of a product... 3 hours of trying every solution including creating new accounts for her I'm done. We own our own fitbits ( charging issues aside I don't mind them) but this is the last straw. Imagine if alexa had this kind of spaghetti code running it...

Thanks for this post but I couldn't get this to work.
I'd just like to add my voice of disgust regarding Google's desire to hoover up every single bit of data they can whilst trying to register for an account to get my son's birthday present to work. I didn't want to update my address on my google account...I didn't want to give them credit card details to prove I am a parent (how does that work???) and I certainly am not going to upload a photo of my passport to your servers.
And that's before I even start with the appalling integration between Fitbit and google. I'm going to swap it for a google.
I would never trust Google but this has become a generational issue for your organisation now. What happened to "don't be evil"? Goodbye.

I am having the same issue. I bought 2 Ace 3s and cannot connect them to my account. Customer service told me the same thing. It is frustrating because they should not be selling them if this is an issue

Hi Lizzy,
Is there any timeline to when this will be solved? It has been a month since I bought them. Will have to return them, but probably will not buy another one until this is resolved. There should be a notice letting us know?

I returned mine. This is an issue that goes back to 2020 it seems - if they are this incompetent it will never be fixed.

So this poses a problem if the child doesn't have their own device.... is there a way to work around that?

This is what worked for me. I found this in another thread on Fitbit.
*Fitbit only works for accounts that were originally created as a child's
account, and not for accounts that were initially created as a regular
account for adults then was later converted to a child's account.*
This is what finally worked for me. I tried all of the crazy suggestions in other threads, but nothing worked. My son’s account was not originally created as a kids account, once I set up the new kids account it worked without any issues.

I cannot see family members in my newly created Fitbit account. I have created the family account and added my children after creating my Fitbit account to be able to set up an Ace 3. My son can see that he is member of the family (he got a Versa 3), while it is as if the Fitbit app on my phone (iPhone) didn’t not refresh. I have tried all the advice I found, reinstalling the app, rebooting phone, etc. I think the app needs to be checked/fixed. I have a very disappointed 7 year old here who cannot understand why her dream watch (that she wanted so much) is not working.

I also have similar issues, I had 2 children accounts set up via fitbit account all worked perfectly, then they changed to google and my 2 child profiles disappeared.
I changed to google profile to see if this worked, but still cannot add them. It says they need to be on my google family profile, which they are.
but they are still not showing as family members in fitbit.
I cannot set up a firbit account in their name as their google account is supervised! Well of course they are, they are children.
I cannot just set up new account like they are adults or they cant have an Ace watch because they are adults! 😡
so fustruting.
I have raised a complaint via the chat and it has been escalated, but so annoying as the watches are now 8 months old so cant be returned. And I cant set them up and account!!!!
I also just found out that if they have an amazon fire you cant set up ace watches on their tablets! Why??! You can set up adult watches on them??!
sorry rant over.
any help appreciated. I will update if I hear anything on the esculated query.
however looks like lots of people are having the same issue for over a month and no answer from Fitbit!
