Removing and adding family members

Hi all, 

 

I am trying to add Husband as Guardian to our family account, it keeps telling me I can only send one invite per day. I sent invite yesterday but he did not receive. He had a family account previously however he is trying to delete this but is having issues. could this be the issue for me?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the information that was shared with me. The issue could be related because of the fact that your husband had another family account setup. Therefore, I suggest him to follow the below steps to delete the account and then please try to send the invite to him again:

 

Note that main guardians must remove all members from the Fitbit family account before deleting the account. Keep in mind that removing a child from the family account also deletes the child’s Fitbit account and all related data. To delete the family account:

 

  1. Tap the Today tab 
     
    , and tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap My Family.
  3. Remove each family member from the account. For instructions, see How do I remove someone from my Fitbit family account?
  4. After you remove all members, tap the 3 dots > Delete Family.

 

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.

Hi, I am having similar problem - I set up a family account, invited other 2 members. Both got invites, one became member, the other one also confirmed, he saw himself as member of the family, but on my side of the account I saw him just as invited without reply (did not become member of the family, I could not invite him). So I decided to erase the family account and create a new one - I deleted everyone and erased the account. I set up a new one (went through the initial info on family accounts etc.), tried to invite everyone, however I still see the person whose set up got stuck up as "invited" and I cannot invite him again. I closed my app, I erased and set up the account again, but nothing has worked so far. Do you have any solutions for that?

Thanks for getting back to us and for letting us know about the steps you have followed in order to invite another member to your family account @CZGoral.

 

Did you invite this other member as a Guardian? I found these troubleshooting steps that worked for another user to be able to add his wife as a guardian.

Hi Andrea, thanks for the additional guidance. However, I solved it in the meantime:

- I deleted My family account

- I logged out of the app

- I logged in and created new My family account and invited all the others (as members)

It worked then (after the log out - log in). 

 

I am also curious about the challenges. I am used to invite friends for the vacant spots in the challenges (such as Workweek). It seems to me that the list of my friends is quite shorter than the full list of my friends, it keeps on changing for every challenge (not much, but there are few people left every time and few others added) and it seems that a huge majority of them has much more steps average than me (and there is almost no one with less steps per week). Is that on purpose?

What you have mentioned is really curios but I really couldn´t tell if that´s in purpose. I really don´t do many steps, so almost all my friends have more steps than me. The people that do less steps don´t even participate in challenges.
