As the main account holder I keep getting locked out of my Fitbit dashboard. When I enter the correct password to switch back into parent view. It is telling me that I do not have permission to do that. Please help

This is the exact same problem I am having. I updated the app. I changed my password. I even restarted my iPhone 6s+. Nothing works. I’m not uninstalling and reinstalling just to get switched.

Same here. Deleted app, reinstalled, and was back to my profile. Switched to one of my kids' profiles, then tried to switch to parent account again and was stuck.

I had face recognition set for my password, so an incorrect password was not the issue. Even reset my password, nothing. Even deleted and re-downloaded the app. Still not liking my password.

Even deleted and re-downloaded the app. Worked great until I went to Child Account then tried to go to parent view. Still not liking my password.

Yes same issue today also.. I’ve had to delete and then reinstall the app when I wanted to go into my view!

I synched my watch through the fitbit website after I changed my password. The dashboard there had all my history so i felt safe deleting the app and reinstalling. Once i did that, it forces you to log in the first time you open it, so i was finally back to my own account. But, i am afraid to check my kids accounts now and have to go through that all over again. Definitely a problem!!

This has happened to me this morning and thankfully it appears I'm not alone when I found this thread. I've got the latest version of the app installed too.

Mine is doing the same tonite (5/5/20). When I try to return to parent view, it says incorrect password. I know the correct password because I had just logged on, and I used it to enter this forum. I deleted and reinstalled the app twice, but it’s not working. Very frustrating.

I had the same issue this morning, I can remember the password but it kept telling me it was the wrong password. I reset the password and keep getting the message. I deleted the app and then reinstalled, switched to kid view and now it wont let me switch back...incorrect password.....it is not!!

I’m having exactly the same issue! This is something FitBit needs to resolve today. Very frustrating when I want to sync my watch.

I can't switch back to parent view either. I also changed my password a couple of times. Do I need to delete the childs account?

Interesting. Today my son logged in on my phone, and afterwards as usual I went "switch to parent view." I entered my password, "you do not have permission to perform this action." I tried again, with what I typed visible to allow for the possibility of mistyping. But nope.
I reset my password, logged into my account with my new password successfully on my laptop, closed the app on my phone, restarted the phone. It opened up in my son's view, I entered my new password, "you do not have permission to perform this action."
I uninstalled the app, reinstalled, and now that works.
It's remarkable how often software which is a decade old and is installed by almost 28 million people stuffs up, and how the only solution is reinstalling and restarting. For something used by so many for so long it has quite a lot of bugs, and it doesn't encourage me to spend hundreds more dollars on a more expensive new version, since most of us know that an "upgrade" usually doesn't work as well.

I'm having the same issue and can't switch to my account from my child's account. It just started happening yesterday, 5/5/2020. I clicked forgot password and created a new one which works on the website but not in the app. Hopefully this will get fixed ASAP!

Same. Son got his ace 2 today for his bday, set up, synced to his device and can select his on my device. Try to swap back to parent view, incorrect PW. Rest. Same. Only way out is to uninstall app and reinstall...Not a great start!
