Alta HR not recording active minutes

Alta HR is not recording active minutes. Called customer support and was told this was a known issue. Active minutes showed up yesterday but again it’s back to zero. Yes I’ve checked settings, yes I’m being acrivenlong enough that it should be registering. What’s going on and when can I expect this to be fixed?

Hi there @_kaylal, welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂

I'm very sorry to hear that you're having problems with your Fitbit Alta HR not recording your active minutes accurately. While I must tell you that our Support Team is aware of a situation like this happening currently, I would like to make a suggestion and see if this makes any difference.

My suggestion would be to give your tracker a quick restart and probably to set it up as a new device. You can easily do this by clipping your tracker to the charger and plugging the charger to a USB port on your computer or a wall charger. Then, Press the button on your charging cable three times within four seconds and your tracker should vibrate and show the Fitbit logo. This will make your tracker to reboot.

After this, you can try to set it up as a new device. For this, go to the Account section at the top right corner on the Fitbit app and select the option that says "Set up a new device". Follow the on-screen instructions and once you're done, your tracker should be syncing without a problem.

From this point, your active minutes should be counted correctly. Now, also, keep into consideration that you need to keep a certain level of intensity to get the active minutes awarded. For more information on all this, click here.

Anything else you may need, I'm here to help!

I've done everything you suggested and it still resets my active minutes at least 3 times a week.

My Fitbit Alta HR is also not logging my active minutes. I’ve tried all suggested resets, etc.! What do you plan to do for those who purchased this version and continue to have  these issues?

I had the same issue months ago, and it appeared to have been fixed only to start happening again this week!  So frustrating!

Is your heart at 50% load or higher? If not, exercise mode will stay off.

Yes, it was definitely at or above 50% load.

Do you see a workout in the app? If not, then your Fitbit has a problem with exercise mode.

Yes, I saw a workout in the app. It just captures the wrong heart rate zones.
