So many Alta problems, I don’t know where to begin. Let’s start with the fact that it erases or completely fails to register my hour long morning run data upon sync. (If I wanted to manually enter this data, I would buy some paper and a pen). The Alta fails to detect my hikes and walks entirely. It does, however, randomly award me elliptical workouts I didn’t do. I ran the same 4.0 mile loop two days in a row. The first day Alta said I clocked 3.0 miles. The next day, Alta said I clocked 5.6. Of course, upon sync with the iOS App, it simply disregards the runs all together. There are days when it cuts off randomly, won’t hold a charge, and from day one I’ve had nothing but trouble trying to tap and activate the display. When it does activate, it cuts off almost immediately. This makes it almost impossible to read the data on the watch face. In my opinion, Fitbits’ response to these problems, and others like them, has been absurdly inadequate, which reflects poorly on this company. Obviously the Alta issues are due to design failure. And the company certainly can’t be without knowledge of its widespread product failure. Instead of crying user error and telling customers to restart it, Fitbit should recall and replace the products sold (regardless of warranty). At a minimum, the Alta should be taken off the shelf.

I find the companies response to these problems, and many like them, to be wholly inadequate. Clearly this model is a complete fail.

Best AnswerSorry but wit out paragraph formatting it is hard to follow.
My first thought would be to try 1 to 3 restarts.
My sister has none of these issues with her Alta HR.
I suggest multiple restarts because the Alta HR does not have a true Hard(ware) restart. Only a soft(ware) restart.
