Alta comes with the ability to set up and receive call, text, and calendar notifications on iOS and Android.
This post will provide instructions on how to setup your alerts so that you can see who's texting you, the content of the messages, who's calling, and what your calendar has on deck for you. For a detailed overview of alerts for Alta, please see this help page.
You can view your notifications when they come in by using Quick View or by double-tapping the Alta where the band and tracker meet.

Will it work with What's App?

My phone vibrates when I receive notifications but there is no display. Quick view and tapping twice don't do anything except go through the normal steps. I have an iPhone 6.

@Rana.H I'm glad to hear that you were able to get setup with your notifications. It is true that u can currently only select 1 application as a default text notifications app. Your workaround sounds like a good one with the Facebook SMS feature! Thanks for sharing.
@EsBebe Thanks for taking the time to share what worked for you to help you get back on track. I appreciate the help.
@duke3x The only way to view without tapping right now is, as @buzzito said above, using QuickView. But you mentioned that it drains your battery. If it's an abnormal battery drain cycle, I recommend reaching out to our Support Team as you may need some further assistance from our experts.
@Afrosilver777 I'm not aware of that feature.
@ashmchenry44 Thanks for confirming that @EsBebe's suggestion here helped you out.
@BKtrainz Hmmm, have you checked out this post with some tips on using QuickView and double-tap to interact with your notifications? That should help you get into a rhythm.

Thanks @ErickFitbit. I dont think its an abnormal drain cycle. I just think the QV feature is a battery killer by default. It shows the Clock everytime i move my wrist. Even when im trying to fall asleep and trying to accomodate my pillow it lights up in my face, thats why i always disabled it on all my previous fitbits (Charge and Charge HR), but even with that feature off, i would see who is calling without the need of tapping the screen. I just wish it works the same way with the Alta.

@duke3x Yes, the Charge and Charge HR illuminated the display when you would receive a notification without any user interaction but that was a new change introduced with the Alta. If you'd like the Alta notifications to cause the tracker to illuminate the display, I recommend voting for this existing idea from our Feature Request board. The more votes it gets, the more likely it will be considered for implementation in future releases.

Thanks @ErickFitbit. Hopefully we see that change in the future. Maybe not as default, but it would be nice to have the chance to change it according to our needs. I already logged into that page you suggested.

@Billiam79 Correct, the Alta does not have the hardware capability to track floors climbed as a metric. Also, the notifications are only viewable if you interact with Alta.
@duke3x Yeah, I am always in support of more options. Make sure you share that with other users who would like that feature too. Thanks for voting!

Hey @ErickFitbit I have had a look at the devices page, but and see that there is the Huawei P8...does that mean that the P8 lite is not supported?

@TS87 Correct, the Huawei P8 Lite is not listed as a supported device. This doesn't mean that it won't work for you, it just means that our Android team has yet to test and add the device as supported. This also could mean that all features may not be functional until listed as supported. If you currently own the Alta, I suggest attempting pairing it with this process.

I followed all of these steps and I still am not getting text alerts. I get phone call, calendar, hourly movement reminder, and daily celbration alerts - but not text alerts.
I have a Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge, Andriod version 6.0.1.
Thank you!
