Alta battery dying quickly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had my Alta for a while now.

Initially battery life was great, I would charge it once a week, then it decided to die within a few days, so I would charge it and it would again only last a few days....this happened for a couple of weeks, then suddenly all was fine again I was back to once a week charging.

That was a while ago.....over the last couple of weeks this has started happening again, I charged my Alta just before last weekend (the battery hadn't been holding out and I was going to be doing a lot of walking at the weekend) I had to charge it again on Monday. Today (Thursday) it decided that it was going into give me a low battery warning again...it's on charge again at the moment....

I wouldn't mind so much if I'd been doing miles and miles of walking the last 4 days, but I haven't.

Help!

Has there been an update that has screwed up the battery life?

I wouldn't mind, but it's dying at inconvenient times.....usually when I want it.

At least you are getting a warning indicator.  I don't even get that.  I am at half battery and mine just dies.  I know that I need to charge every 2 days because I get no indication of it dying.  Super sad.  I love my Alta.....

Have you tried resetting it like some people on the message board suggested? That worked perfectly for me and I haven't had any problems since.

I tried a few times emailing back.  It keeps bouncing back to me.  I have gone and turned off everything that I can on my tracker, and even with that, cleaning my charger slot, and resetting the Alta, I am still needing to charge every 2 days.  I still get no notifications that's it's dead or even about to die.  There's still 60-70% battery life (or what I have been told) that should still be there when it dies.  What else is there to do?

My charge doesn't even last a full day!  I have to charge it in the middle of the day.  Not Good!!!  I cannot reset mine with the charger either because I don't have a 'button' on my charger cable.  What not?  Toss it out it window is what is going to happen.

  1. Plug your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. Your tracker will begin charging.

  3. Press the button on your charging cable 3 times within a few seconds, briefly pausing between presses. The button is on the end of the charging cable that is plugged into your computer. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, this means the tracker has restarted.
  4. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Your tracker should now work normally. If your tracker still doesn't work after a restart, contact Customer Support.

mine is the same!! Dies without warning or as soon as I reach my target it will die. I have to charge it every night and it  doesn’t last the whole day. I’ve reset mine twice it only helped for a couple days.
