So it’s brand new from Fitbit or a new replacement? That’s amazing and sad. After being on the phone for an hour and 25 minutes with a customer service rep and then a supervisor that could truthfully care less of the issues I explained to him. I asked how magically my Fitbit blaze and my Fitbit Alta that have worked for years magically both stopped working less than 72 hours apart while I was asleep and they were on charge. By the end of the call they finally offered me a new Fitbit Alta, but could not give me any terms of the warranty it would have and the Alta was the older of the two devices. The one that just quit working was a brand new replacement Fitbit set me after a hairline crack appeared on my first one. They sent me the new one and told me use the old one until it craps out then go to this one. The one sitting in my office looks brand new with zero blemishes and now is a small paperweight. I asked countless times how so many people, in the hundreds if not thousands of people have commented on their own Fitbit forum about the same exact issues to the T and yet they are denying any responsibility whatsoever but all give different information as to when and if an upgrade or update to the software and or firmware came out. Freaking sad

I think of my FitBit as a teeny tiny boat anchor!

Is this fixable? Tried the suggested ways and nothing. Is this planned obsolescence so we must make another FitBit purchase?

The only way I was able to fix this was by contacting customer support and stayed on the phone for one hour in 52 minutes after demanding to speak to a supervisor. It was very clear as you can tell my other post that they honestly did not give a crap and we’re just listening rather than saying let’s figure out what we can do. By the end of the conversation they finally said we can send you a new Fitbit, at which time I told him I’m not concerned about the $40 Fitbit it’s the 200+ dollar Fitbit blaze that I’m more pissed off about. I told him there’s no way in the world that thousands of these things if not tens of thousand stopped working The only way I was able to fix this was by contacting customer support and stayed on the phone for one hour in 52 minutes after demanding to speak to a supervisor. after the offer was made for the new Fitbit Alta I asked a very simple question, what is to say this also won’t do the same thing my other altered it was working perfectly fine for years he’s going to do the same exact thing, at which no comment was made nor the answer resolution or anything of the sort. All they said is you have a 30 day warranty on the new one which I told him was BS because you’re sending me a brand new device but you’re going to want it for 30 days, what happens on the 45th day when it does this crap y’all going to say sorry. Beyond dissatisfied with customer service when prior to I was very satisfied with them. I also feel personally myself that it pisses me off and I know it has piss other people off that they offer a slight discount on a new unit whenever you’re calling and trying to get help or assistance on the one you’re holding in your hand that looks brand new with no scratches or anything else but now you’re told me to buy another brand new unit because y’all did something and all these went to crap. If I have no faith in Customerservice or the other two products why should I have faith that this product won’t do the same thing down the road?! Sorry for the wild tangent, as of right now I have not been able to figure out a fix for this issue nor has anybody else that I’m aware of. The only thing I could possibly think of which is a strictly try it on your own if you feel you can do it, is opening up the unit which is very simple and on soldering the battery. There’s two small wires that go onto the board which is small but easily manageable and if you disconnect one of the leads That should technically take away all power to the unit. Give it a little bit and then result of the positive lead back on and put the screen back together, take care with the LCD screen because it is very sensitive and can break and it instantly. Best of luck

As I put in my post, try to open up the unit and unsolder the power wire and leave it disconnected for a bit. After a little time is past soldered back together which takes a matter of minutes to do that and put the whole unit back together.

I am having the same issue. Alta stops working in after few hours time. When plugged in, it starts with the logo and version number display. The battery shows that it is already charged.

Did you get a reply. I am having the same issue. Once I unplug my fully charged Alta Fitbit it turns off. I am trying to avoid buying a new one if at all possible.
Thx for your reply.

I contacted customer service and politely let them know how pissed off I was that two units went out within 72 hours of each other. Even though my Fitbit Alta was out of warranty, they still want to head and are sending me a brand new one that only giving it a 30 day warranty. With it being brand new we’ll see but that’s what I would do if I were you. And if the first person doesn’t do it request to speak to a supervisor.
