Fitbit Alta

My Fitbit is only working when on charge. I’ve tried the restart and the battery is reading full

Hi @Lbarnett222 and welcome to the forums. Sorry to hear about your problem with the Alta. How long ago did you buy this? Sadly, it was released over 4 1/2 years ago and technology has moved quickly over the years.  Fitbit has replaced that device with other models, such as the Inspire and Inspire HR. It may be time to replace your Alta with a newer device. The Alta HR was long my favorite ... until the Fitbit Versa line came out. I enjoy all the new features on it!

I have this device bought it last year on Amazon. Why is this device still being sold as brand new?  When if something stops working like my Alta have stopped being recognized by my computer. All USB ports are fine the computer is excellent. (I do tech support for PCs for a living.) Have reinstalled the fitbit app from Microsoft store nothing resolves the issue. Why would all of sudden my device stop being recognized for sync?  I can charge fine everything else works seems like a blocked at the software level.  I wouldn't mind buying a new one if it was that my device a failed but I seriously doubt that is the case.   However my main issue other than my device not working and it seems to be known issue.  STOP SELLING THESE YOU CAN NOT GET SUPPORT  FOR THEM.  Other than that it makes it seems like Fitbit is helping sellers by allowing them to sell old inventory and block it VIA software.
