My Fitbit Alta does not power on

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Fitbit Alta switches off the moment its charging plug is removed. I have tried restarting it by pressing the micro switch three times within 8 seconds, however after rebooting also the problem persists. Moreover, the display works when it is plugged on and shows the battery as fully charged, However moments after removing the charging plug, it goes dead and no amount of taping is able to bring it to life. This problem started exactly a year after flawless performance. Please help

@fishergal I'm happy to hear that our Support Team was able to get your tracker replaced and that you're now back on track! 😄

Let me know if you need further assistance!

@Tashspil I'm sorry to hear that your tracker is not responding 😕 Welcome ot the Forums!

Have you been able to set it up? If not, make sure to put your tracker to charge for at least and hour. You might not see anything on the display once you put it to charge or you might see the fitbit.com/setup message. If you see this, try to set it up.

For this, go to the Account section at the top right corner on the Fitbit app and select the option that says "Set up a new device". Follow the on-screen instructions and once you're done, your tracker should be syncing without a problem.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more help!

My Fitbit Alta will not power on.  What is the first step to figure out what is wrong?

There is a button on the charger near the USB  end. The first step it to insert your fitbit in the charger then press that button 3 times with at least a second in between. You also have to do all 3 presses within 8 seconds and that will reboot it. Mine keeps going black like its dead when it isn't Goodluck the 1dt step did nothing for me.

The exact same thing is happening to my Fitbit Alta.  It appears to be a common problem, and clicking the button 3 times has not helped as I tried to do this a few hundred times over the last two days.  If fitbit is so aware of this problem, they should be exchanging these as iyou would think a quality product should las more than a little over a year.

The exact same thing is happening to my Fitbit Alta. It is fully charged, but won't start up once it is disconnected from a power source.  It appears to be a common problem, and clicking the button 3 times has not helped as I tried to do this a few hundred times over the last two days.  Perhaps this is why Alta is discontinued.  If fitbit is so aware of this problem, they should be exchanging these or be providing a decent discount for a new unflawed product.  A quality product should last more than a little over a year.

I've had my Alta for 4 years and suddenly it won't respond even after charging. Not syncing 😞 The press the button three times isn't doing anything to help. Oh dear. It looks so sad after all this time together.

I honestly only use my Alta as a backup when charging my versa. If I remember correctly I had to reset it and I only charge with a wall outlet now. Have you tried calling support for a way to fix it. Good luck.

I appreciate the suggestion and advice. I tried charging the Alta from a wall outlet and had no luck. I plan to contact customer service on Monday.

Thanks again

I've had my Alta since April 11th 2020 and not only am I having the same problem with it not powering on when disconnected from the charger but now I can't get it to sync. Literally right now it's a ugly bracelet.

Fitbit may replace yours because it is still under warranty. However, anything over a year old, their only advice is here is a 25% off coupon that can be used for some older fitbit models. You would think that they would recognize that there is a problem with this product and offer a better solution.

I'm having the same issue with my Alta,

i bought it like 3 years ago , used it for like 2 months then put it on the box and didn't use it till last month i started using it again but this issue is super frustrating and honestly i'm  not sure if i'd spend any money on other fitbit devices since its so  clear that there is an issue with this device ''Alta'' and its simply left with no solution at all 😞
