Problem setting up Fitbit Alta with iPhone Xr

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Upgraded my iPhone 6 Plus to the new iPhone Xr. Only to discover that my Fitbit Alta won’t pair with it at all!! Is there any way to fix this?

I have tried factory resets, forgetting device, switching Bluetooth on and off, switching phone on and off etc

Has anyone else had any success?

Hi there @KerrieBerrie @KerrieBerrie, good to see you both in the Forums! 🙂

I'm very sorro to hear that you're having problems getting your Alta trackers to pair with your iPhone Xr

Thanks a lot for all you've tried so far to get them to work. I'd like to help you out here.

Since you've already tried several things to no avail, I can probably recommend using another device that is compatible just to set up your trackes. Once you've already set them up correctly, try to get them to sync with your iPhone and see if it goes through.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more help!

Hi there. My Fitbit has been up and running  for a year on my old phone. No issues. It’s since I got my new phone it will not pair with it. The Alta does not need setup.

Same problem here.  I just bought a iPhone Xr and my Alta will not sync.  The Alta was working on my old iPhone 5.  I've turned off/on the iPhone and I've restarted the Alta….still not working.  Turned on/off my Bluetooth and it does not recognize the Alta.  Any idea how to make it work????

I found the answer on another post and now my iPhone Xr and Alta are paired.  I had to go into my old phone and found my Alta was paired on the old phone.  Just needed to tell it to forget the device and within moments my new iPhone Xr recognized my Alta and it was paired.

Thank You

Thx for your reply.. I’ve wiped my phone in terms of ‘erase all content and settings’ as getting ready to sell it... would have thought it therefore would have deleted all my apps...

Hey every one!

Sorry for the delay on our reply.

If you're still experiencing any issues to sync your Alta with your new phones I'd recommend @HENMAJ tip. You'll need to remove the Alta on Bluetooth settings of the old phone. After this, go ahead and try setting up your Alta as a new device.

If any of you continue to have any difficulties, please let me know.

Xr linking problem with Alta - tried everything like everyone else. I traded in my phone so telling it to forget is not an option.  How do I fix?

Hey @ppTheVerb, first, let me give you the welcome to the Fitbit Community.

I'll be glad to help you out with pairing your Alta. Thanks for the troubleshooting steps that you've tried so far.

In this case I'd like to know if you have any other devices, like tables that you used to use with your Alta. If you do, please turn them of and try the set up once more.

Keep me posted on the results!

I have just purchased an XR and traded in my old iPhone SE.  Apple wiped my phone.  I have followed all the ideas in the community except for unpairing the Alta at the time of trade.  Since I can no longer unpair the Alta with the old phone, how can I get notifications of texts and calls on my Alta from my CR?
