Hi everyone,
I just received my Alta after pre-ordering. I am currently in the process of setting it up using the android app. Right now it is not seeing it while my bluetooth is on. The first screen says Power Up, and it is searching for it but does not find it. After that, the Not Working? screen comes up, and you have the option to try again. After selecting try again, It then says Bluetooh Issues. This is where you can restart Bluetooth, which I've done multiple times already. I know my bluetooth works on my phone because I have it setup to work with my headphones with no problems. I have it securely connected to the USB pin connecter which is then connected to my PC. It is charging so I know there is connectivity. I've restarted my phone a few times, but to no avail. I never had any problem connecting with my HR. Has anyone else experienced this with the Alta, does anyone know of anything that I could do to fix this issue.

Fitbit alta was dead on arrival. It would never charge or respond to any input right out of the box. I spoke with customer service after waiting over an hour and was told that he would send me a FEDEX tracking label for return. I then had to take it to the post office (yes, the post office), and when I got a confirmation that the item was in transit from the tracking number, I had to email the representative with this confirmation number (which was already provided by the FEDEX tracking label initially), and he would authorize fitbit to send me a new one. After I corrected him about the item needing to go the FEDEX office and that I would not get a confirmation that the item was in transit, he hung up the phone on me. Great support right? It is going back to Amazon and I will not be ordering a replacement. By the way, I am a middle aged Systems Engineer for an Aerospace company so I think I can line the little dots on the charger up according to his initial suggestion.

Finally after trying to reset several times with no luck, deleting app then reinstalling it, turning my phone off and back on, trying setup with dougle. I finally decided to delete all other fitbits I had connected to my phone and finally it instantly found my alta. So if you have tried all other options with no luck delete other devices and try again. It worked for me.

Update on the situation. I went to Best Buy and purchased a new alta. No issues with charging or syncing.

I reieved my Alta last Wednesday after pre-ordering it. I've downloaded the app on my Android phone. I did find that I had an account a few years ago. I am trying to set up my device then sync it and have failed numerous times at trying to figure out both. When I tap my screen I get fitbit.com/setup. When I put the button 3 times to restart it, I get picture of the battery but then nothing changes. I thought I needed to sync it but it doesn't recognize my bluetooth. I've reset, turned things on and off. I just don't know what to do anymore. This has been more frustrating than I imagined! I hope this device is worth it!
