I was at the gym walking on the treadmill when I was on the Fitbit app and I decided to change the clock face. Ever since then the app just says looking and I've plugged it in and tried everything I possibly can but it will not turn on

It totally stopped.  Finally reset it and got it to charge. and then had to reset it like it was a new fitbit by entering number and resynching it into phone.

the "random numbers" is the sync code --- your fit bit is trying to reset.... it... have it close to your devise when its trying to reset.

Thats the code to restart it.  Put it next to your phone and go back through the instructions how to start a new ditbit.  You put that code in to link it up with your phone.  The charger works.  Mine was less than a year old.

My Alta is brand new and fully charged. I was not able to fully set up my profile/account. The message on my Alta says www.fitbit.com/setup.   Can you help me?

A warm welcome to the Community @Alicia22! That's weird! First, please restart your tracker by following this instructions step by step:

1. Plug your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or any USB power adapter.

2. Insert the other end of the cable into the port on the back of your Fitbit Alta. Your Alta will begin charging.

3. Press the button on your charging cable three times within eight seconds, briefly pausing between presses. The button is on the end of the charging cable that is plugged into your computer.

4. Eight seconds after the first button press, you'll see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This means Alta is restarting.

5. After you see the logo you can unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

After that, please make sure of charging it fully

We have 2 Fitbit Alta HR (1 month old). My son's had a black screen, green lights on the underside stay lit all the time, vibrates when connecting to charger and when pressing the reset buttons.  But I have tried reset as described (at least 8 times between son and me).....no response.  Other advice?

Mine is doing the same thing.  I was able to restart by pushing the little button 3 times and the battery symbol shows up with an ! in it which is not normal.  Doesn't appear to be charging either.  Mine is barely a year old and worked fine yesterday before the so called update.

I contacted Fitbit. They trouble shooted it for me. I sent some videos to make sure I was doing it right. It was not right. They have sent me a new one.

Good luck - get In touch w Fitbit

Thank you very much for giving the instructions. When you go to FAQ the question is there but no instructions. Again thank you.

Hey everyone! Thanks for the details you've mentioned, I would like to help you sorting this out. Please confirm you've performed a restart and make sure you're properly charging it, if the screen isn't working.

If after this, your Alta's screen is still not turning on let me know so I can share your post with our Support team.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Just read this but what button on the charging cable?

The button is really hard to see as it is the same color as the cord. You can feel the raised button if you run your finger over it. It’s about the size of a pencil eraser around but just barely sticks up above the plug. Hope this helps!
