I have tried restarting my fitbit.
Yesterday I looked at my fitbit and it said I had 3000 steps. A few minutes later I went to look again and my fitbit stayed black. I just ignored it.
Today I tried to look at my steps and it wouldn't work! I came back here to look and restarting didn't help. I tried everything I could think of! Whenever I try to connect to the app it says "looking," and never does anything.
Please help!

The Alra is charged 100%. I can see the charge % when it is on the charger and I can sync the device. As soon as it is removed from the charger it goes blank and won't sync. Battery life was about 50% when I put it on the charger prior to the problems. I've taken the steps to restart multiple times. And I understand how to clean the contacts and charge the device.

Mine doesn't even show anything when connected to the charger have done everything they said several times nothing changes and still get the same response from them every time. Guess I just cut my loses and realise I wasted $170!

Having the same problem. Seems like a common problem that Fitbit should recognize and resolve for their customers. I was offered a 25% discount on a new one and was told that “it was old and electronics do not last for extended periods of time”. I beg to differ and will be looking into similar devices with better reputations for longevity and customer satisfaction. It’s a shame that my Alta only worked for 2 years (and I took excellent care of it). It’s a bigger shame that others are having the same issue and Fitbit does not recognize that there are some inferior Altas out there!

I got 2 and a half month's.. Should be under warranty but fitbit won't do anything.. Was buying fitbit for my kids went Garmin instead! Won't bother with fitbit anymore

@Kathyg99 I COMPLETLEY agree!! Same situation here, got the 25% off for a ‘select’ number of Fitbit products but why would i spend my $ on another Fitbit that’s just going to mysteriously stop working 2 years afternoon I buy it?? I used to wear it all the time then it was in storage for a bit (safely stored) and when i got it out to use it again, nothing. I was so disappointed and the lack of customer service made it worse.

@luv2danz, I'm glad to hear that once you chose the correct tracker it started working!
@knieu @Kathyg99 I'm sorry you're not satisfied with the discount you were offered by our Support Team. Currently, they need to abide by the warranty policy and unlike other brands that leave you empty handed once you reach the warranty limit, they will offer alternative solutions.
@Sas86, I spoke with the Support Team but wasn't able to find a case under your email address. Would you like me to escalate your case for them to review it?

Mine has stopped working completely tonight. It suddenly started showing a battery symbol with an exclamation mark in it then went blank. When I got home from work I reset it and nothing has happened.
It is less than 10 months old and I have taken excellent care of it. I am not happy at all

I'm very sorry to hear that your Alta went black and was no longer responding 😕 Thanks for trying to restart it!
Now, I'd like to know if it's still not working or if you were able to get it back on. When you put it to charge, do you see anything on the display showing up or it won't show anything at all? Is your tracker syncing?

This is now happening to me. Yesterday it was fine until about 430. I tapped the screen for the time and it was blank. I forgot about it until I got a text around 6 and it didn't vibrate. It stayed blank so I thought hmm maybe it died.. so I put it on the charger and the battery symbol never came on.

Same here used it for 2 months and then the screen is blank..plug it anywhere the screen is blank,it doesn't vibrate nor anything appears on the screen.pls help if anyone can..tried cleaning the connectors,pressing the button 3 times in 8 secs, also pressing the button for 12 sec single hold..but everything in vane..

Mine does the same thing and I have tried everything. The only way it works is if it is plugged in I have let it charge for multiple hours but it still won't turn on unless it is plugged in. Please help

My Fitbit Alta HR screen is also unresponsive when unplugged. Works fine with plugged in. As soon as I unplug, screen goes dark and won't register again, won't turn on or connect. Battery shows fully charged when plugged in and screen registers taps as it should.

Hey I have have the same problem the Fitbit Alta won’t turn on even when I put it in the charger and try to reset it and I was wondering can you help me with this I have tried calling Fitbit but they have gave me a replacement
