Fitbit Update: 3/6/19
Hello everyone!
We have some updated troubleshooting suggestions we'd like for all of you on Android Pie (9.0) to try.
First, turn off Background Restrictions/Limitations: Phone settings > Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app > Background restrictions or Background limits.
Then, disable battery limitations:
Please give the steps above a try to improve syncing with your Fitbit device and Android 9.0 OS. We're still researching and testing out long-term solutions to this ongoing syncing issue. We thank you for all your patience while we continue to work on this effort.

Hey Everyone!
Our team is still working on implementing a longterm fix for syncing with Android devices on Pie (9.0).
For the background syncing issue, I have posted an update in the other floated thread which you can find here.
We released Fitbit for Android version 2.80 today which contains improvements for that syncing issue.
I'll make sure to keep you all updated with more information, as soon as I have it available. We're still working on this and I really appreciate everyone's patience.

I will continue to provide updates here, so keep an eye on this thread.
Fitbit Update: 9/10/18
Hi, everybody!
Thanks for your patience while our team continues to work on improving syncing for those on Android Pie (9.0). They are actively working on this and for the time being, I recommend you keep the Fitbit app updated on the latest version for best syncing results. Right now that is version 2.78, so if you're not on this version please update! Also, another troubleshoot we recommend is performing a restart on your phone.
When there are more improvements made in the future I'll announce them here. Stay tuned and subscribed to this thread.
Fitbit Update: 8/19/18
We have escalated these syncing issues for those who are now using Android Pie (9.0) to our team for investigation. There aren't any updates at the moment, but rest assured we will keep you informed in this thread when more information is available.
Thanks for your patience!

Still NOT working: Pixel 1 with all available updates, Fitbit app 2.83, and Zip still won't sync.

Also a Pixel 1 here It worked for a few hours after the update, but this morning it was back to "tracker not found" as usual. Cycling airplane mode fixed it as usual, but this is obnoxious to have to do every day.

@LanuzaFitbitIs there any information on how this was fixed? I have version 2.83 on OnePlus 6 but it's still not working. It seems this is only fixed on Pixel phones. It would be nice to know what we are waiting on to be fixed

@jpharris that doesn't match my experience, as I got the Google Connectivity Services update yesterday, and had absolutely no change to my sync problems. However, the moment I updated the Fitbit app to 2.83 this morning, my One immediately synced, and has been doing so ever since. Now it may have been that Google's update could have made it possible for Fitbit's update to work properly, but it's completely inaccurate to say that Fitbit had nothing to do with things working now.

I've been using the V. 2.74.2 work-around for the last few months. It's been successful. I just updated to 2.83 after reading this, and now it's not syncing. So I guess I'll go back to 2.74.2 until Android updates. I'm pretty annoyed, as you might have guessed.
Zip with a Pixel 2.
ETA: It worked briefly an hour after my initial post, but isn't not working now. No idea.

My Zip wasn't syncing to my Pixel 3 with Google update and Fitbit 2.83 this morning, but this afternoon, it seems to be. Fingers crossed...

One Plus 6 users please read/confirm this :
The sync issue is still here, I installed the v2.83 update and still cannot sync my Versa.
I uninstalled the app and restarted my phone more than I can count.
After the v2.83 update I can start the association process, the watch displays the 4 digit pin and I use in the app. The app then starts trying to connect but fails in about 2-3 mins, during this time the watch blinks and vibrates a couple of times but ultimately stops and goes back to normal.
So @LanuzaFitbit is it the app, the OS, the phone, the bluetooth or the watch that's misbehaving ?!
And what's the other alternative to using an app on a fractured ecosystem (Android) ??

Been using 2.83 for 14 hours and so far everything looks good and finally working smoothly! Thank you Fitbit and the development team for working to get this resolved.

@LanuzaFitbit I really think some official words from developers about what this version was trying to achieve is needed. If you really tried to fix the sync issue why don't clearly stating it in the changelog instead of a useless "Bug fixes and performance improvements"

I think I spoke too soon. I went to bed around 10pm last night and when I woke up this morning I saw my Fitbit last sync around 10pm. Now it's not syncing anymore...

Hi
I am a frustrated One Plus 6 and Surge owner and my fitbit has not been able to sync at all since the update to Android Pie (approx two months ago). At this point I am considering investing in another brand of tracker as there has been no help from fitbit.
The v2.83 update has made no difference to my ability to sync what so ever.
@AlessFitbit or any other moderator - is there any solution on the horizon?
Thanks
Ruairi
