Fitbit Update: 3/6/19
Hello everyone!
We have some updated troubleshooting suggestions we'd like for all of you on Android Pie (9.0) to try.
First, turn off Background Restrictions/Limitations: Phone settings > Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app > Background restrictions or Background limits.
Then, disable battery limitations:
Please give the steps above a try to improve syncing with your Fitbit device and Android 9.0 OS. We're still researching and testing out long-term solutions to this ongoing syncing issue. We thank you for all your patience while we continue to work on this effort.

Hey Everyone!
Our team is still working on implementing a longterm fix for syncing with Android devices on Pie (9.0).
For the background syncing issue, I have posted an update in the other floated thread which you can find here.
We released Fitbit for Android version 2.80 today which contains improvements for that syncing issue.
I'll make sure to keep you all updated with more information, as soon as I have it available. We're still working on this and I really appreciate everyone's patience.

Fitbit Update: 9/10/18
Hi, everybody!
Thanks for your patience while our team continues to work on improving syncing for those on Android Pie (9.0). They are actively working on this and for the time being, I recommend you keep the Fitbit app updated on the latest version for best syncing results. Right now that is version 2.78, so if you're not on this version please update! Also, another troubleshoot we recommend is performing a restart on your phone.
When there are more improvements made in the future I'll announce them here. Stay tuned and subscribed to this thread.
Fitbit Update: 8/19/18
We have escalated these syncing issues for those who are now using Android Pie (9.0) to our team for investigation. There aren't any updates at the moment, but rest assured we will keep you informed in this thread when more information is available.
Thanks for your patience!
Fitbit Update: 8/11/18
Hi, everyone! Thanks for stopping by the Community Forums.
Seems like many of you who updated to Android Pie (9.0) are now having trouble syncing your Fitbit trackers. I'm going to escalate this to our team so they can look into it.
In the meantime, please update the Fitbit app to version 2.76.1 if you haven't yet. Let me know if that changes the syncing behavior. Please follow this thread for updates. I'll keep you all posted here!

Glad to know it's not just my phone or App that's causing the "can't connect" message. Just checked and I do have the latest version of the App. However, as I also have my laptop that has Bluetooth, it's happily syncing with my Zip. Once the information shows in the dashboard in my laptop App, it then updates on my phone. Will continue to use both laptop and phone until things get fixed.

Any update on the Android Pie update not syncing with fitbit?

To clarify, and in the interest in keeping this thread on the right track: this issue appears to be a problem with the recent versions of the Fitbit app for Android in general and not necessarily Android 9 (Pie).
I cite multiple effected Samsung users to support this assertion. Samsung users will not be getting the Pie upgrade for months.

Hi,
My Ionic does't sync anymore with my pixel 2.
At the beginning I think it was a problem with the android phone (Pixel2).
But I tried to sync with an iPhone and I still have the same problem.
Reason why I think it is a problem with my watch finally.

I have an HTC 10 running Oreo and a Google Pixel XL running Pie.
I think the problem is with Android Pie as my Pixel XL And my Fitbit Zip won't sync at all, and the HTC 10 always syncs with my fitbit Zip, no problems there

Since my upgrade to Pie on my Pixel XL, I have to reset my fitFit every time I want it to sync. Is there an update or fix for this?

There doesn't seem to be a fix yet but keep an eye on the following thread where fitbit are making updates on progress:

I have an old Samsung Galaxy 4 that still syncs with no problem. I noticed when I sync with that old phone and then try the Pixel it WILL SYNC. I don't understand why but just something I noticed. The Pixel still doesn't sync on it's own until my old Samsung does first.

My Pixel has begun to sync on it's own but not without a glitch. When I first open the Fitbit app it will sync and show my total steps for the day. As soon as I begin to move the counter on the app resets to zero and begins to track my steps anew. I have to force it to sync now and for the moment it is working and shows me my new total for the day. I'm not sure if this is temporary or permanent but for now it's syncing with that little resetting to zero when I stop moving and start again.

A miracle has happened! Following my Sync problems on both my Mac and Android, Fitbit sent me a dongle which I fitted to the Mac. Since then so far (let's not be hasty!) both the Mac and Android are Syncing faultlessly. I feel rejuvenated!!

Hallelujah!
Just received the latest version update and everything works again as it should.
Steps don't reset to 0 before then syncing to proper count, and heart rate updates in real time.
Thanks software devs for fixing this.
