Caller ID showing previous caller's name

When I receive a phone call it used to display who was calling, now it displays the same contact all the time. So if My husband is calling me it says my mum's calling me on the fitbit. It's happened 3 times now. And not just with my husband calling. But always says mum's calling.

I have the alta and a galaxy S7 edge and am having the same issue ever since the new Fitbit app was pushed. Anyone get a fix?

That's a very different issue but I had a similar Issue when I tried to update the firmware when battery was low. Customer service had me charge the battery (at least 30 minutes) and restart the update from my phone. Keep the watch charging during the update, if it doesn't complete, leave it charging longer. If that fails, call customer service. I couldn't get mine to even show it was charging until the update was successful which is a problem since the charge cable needs to be seated properly, but it did show it was updating.

Yep, having both of the same problem. Only started when I updated the Firmware.

Caller ID is always the same TN. And Text notices only show who, but not the messages.

Hi @Melriddo, it's good to see you around in the Community forums.

Than you for all the information you've provided about the caller ID that keeps showing you the same contact.

Before considering other options, please try to restart your device and disable the notifications completely, then go ahead and set them up again following the steps in this article. This has been useful to other users experiencing trouble with notifications.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

When I receive a phone call, it shows my friend Sheri calling EVERYTIME. However, after checking my phone, I see that it's NOT her. It just started this a few days ago? Also, when I get a text message, I can see who it is from, but cannot see the message. HELP!

Same here on my Alta. It keeps showing me that the medical clinic is calling, and since I need to stay on top of medical calls I keep running for the phone only to find out its yet another spammer. Count me annoyed.

Hi, this is what worked for me....

On phone.....

Go into Settings > Apps > Fitbit > Permissions > (turn on) Call logs, Contacts, Location, SMS, Telephone (if these are on, turn off and on again) > Storage > Clear cache.

Fitbit App....

Go into your profile > Touch your watch > Notifications > Turn off Calls and back on.

Watch....

Shutdown and back on.

Has been working ever since. Hope this helps.

I tried this and same problem. It is a problem from firmware update...

Sorry it didn't work for you. I had exactly the same problem, did all the above in that order and started to work and has been doing ever since.

Hope you get it sorted.

@Harleesmonkmonk It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community!

Let me help you with your Charge 2 call notifications. Which phone are you using? Is it compatibleLet's try refreshing the link between your phone and your tracker by doing the following:

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device
  • Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  • You can find additional suggestions here.

Let me know how it goes.

Started for me two days ago.  Chatted with support and they had me do the standard things you do when you're not getting notifications.  Still not working.
