Fitbit Update: 11/6/17
Hey, everyone!
Super happy to hear that you can finally see who has cheered you in Challenges again. Thanks for confirming with the release of the Fitbit for Android app version 2.61 you can see the picture of who has cheered you. If you're an Android user still experiencing this issue, please make sure to update the app.
Now that this has been resolved, I am going to close this thread. If any of you come across this issue again in the future, please make sure to open a new topic for discussion. Thanks to all of you for being patient while this was worked out. I'll see you all around here on the Forums!
Fitbit Update: 10/03/17
Hey, all! Please allow me to clear up some confusion. The cheers not showing up in challenges is only affecting the Android app. This is why if some of you also own iOS devices, you're still able to see cheers inside Challenges. I apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing. Our team is going to work on a fix, but I don't know when that fix will be released. I'll continue to post any updates here. Thanks so much for your patience!
Fitbit Update: 09/14/17
Hey, folks! Thanks for your patience while our team works on a fix. The recent Fitbit app update for Android did not contain a fix for this Challenges issue. Rest assured, once a fix has been identified and released I will make sure to announce it here in this thread.
Fitbit Update: 08/29/17
Thanks for catching this, everyone! I tested this on an Android device, with the Fitbit app version 2.56 and noticed the same result. I have escalated this to our team for review. I will provide an update once I have new information.

There has been another fitbit update for Android since the moderator's last post, but still the problem isn't fixed.

Really Fitbit, you created this cheering and can't solved the issue? Still an update or progress indicating that something is happening for the users of challenges would be nice. Not to see any progress or correspondence feel like you don't really care. This is certainly effecting my decision on the Ionic fitness tracker.

Your post on update 2.59 for android says it's available. It doesn't show in Google play store, 2.58 was the most recent one I saw.

Thank you AlessFitbit. I believe that over 80% of the Fitbit users are using Android phones & over 80% of the data of cheer & text message in challenges is the attached profile pic. If it was a capacity issue that made cheering & messaging unbearable in the past, it may have been solved by simply not continuing to show those images in Android. This issue may well be caused by the fix to a larger & more important one.

I have noticed that I have way more inactive people on my friends list. I am wondering if this has anything to do with this issue (people feeling it’s just not the same without seeing those cheering folks). Before all of this started, I could count on one hand the number of inactive people on my list; and now that list of inactives has really ballooned so there has to be some correlation and not just a coincidence.

Wow. I just checked my inactive friends....I used to have maybe 3 out of 80 friends....now it's gotta be like 15!! Interesting. But also sad. I hope they find a fix for this soon....

Hi I am using a Samsung S6 Edge and I have the Fitbit Alta HR .. My challenge page suddenly stopped loading..

@MzP& @Monica1972, I also have more Inactive Friends than usual (16 out of 72) but I can identify 4 as having lost their FitBit while the rest have experienced extended down times, syncing issues, or disfunctioning FitBits over the Period they have been FitFriends. And the rest have rarely, if ever, accepted my Challenge Invitations.
Therefore, I am unable to confirm that there are People dropping out because of the Challenge Ghosts. No matter how tempting I am personally finding it to be!
I still have Version 2.58 on a Samsung Galaxy 7S with Android 7.0 (Nougat).

Challenges are becoming much less fun.
Apart from not seeing who has cheered, the latest one I did this weekend, where the challenger was 4 hours ahead of me (so I was told it started at 8pm my time, midnight hers) it did not count any of my steps before midnight, not all of them after midnight. And I just got pretty discouraged. It never did catch up those lost steps. So I lost the 4 hours from the rest, as it finishes at 8pm my time, midnight for the others.
I am getting fed up with how none of the issues that people have with the GPS and Oreo and pausing an activity in the app itself, Challenge ghosts, one sided conversations and others are never fixed. And when a genuine feature request that is put in is first put on a 'under consideration' status for 4 years and then moved to a 'not going to happen', it really shows how important the customers are to Fitbit. I mean unimportant. But that's business for you.

@AlessFitbit, I fear this is one of those times when, "For no man delights in the bearer of bad news*" is very apparent.
We all know that it's not your fault. But you're the only one with whom it seems that we are able to communicate. Please provide an update Weekly even if only to say "they're working on it." Otherwise, it seems as though we've been deserted by even you.
If CityLion was correct, and some 80% of FitBit Users use Android, that's a large chunk of potential future Sales lost or gained depending upon the outcome of this major frustration even if not all 80% are as affected by it as we are.

I agree with you @SunsetRunner, I don’t feel very hopeful by the statement “When a fix is in the works”. This makes me feel like we have all been holding on for hope in vain each time an update is released since this sounds like there is nothing “in the works” at the moment. If the statement was “we are working on a fix and will update you when it will be released”, I would feel more hopeful. If the honest truth is that there is no fix in the works right now, then I would know not to expect anything each time there is an update until we get the word here that NOW there is a potential fix being worked on. I think most people here have thought all this time that something was being done to try to unravel the broken system to backtrack to a solution and come to find out there has been no movement at all? Unless I am reading in too much of that statement re “when a fix is in the works”. My apologies, I am not trying to fan the flames just trying to get to the core of the truth of where things are now. Maybe nobody has been able to say that anyone is working on this because they are in fact not working on this at all? I guess it would be too much to know what these mysterious bug are that are getting fixed if it is not this issue? The only update I have noticed recently is that they made the shape around our profile pic circular instead of square
I don’t know anything about coding so it’s possible that I am not picking up on the fact that no fix is in the works because there is so much that needs to be done to figure out where it all went wrong before they can even figure out a fix. I’ll keep hope alive that this is the case- so not so much that nothing is being done or examined re this issue just that there is no fix to work on when it is that impossible to pinpoint where the problem exists in all that crazy coding
