Fitbit charge 6 won't download ecg pdf. I tried deleting app cache. Reinstalling Fitbit app.turnimg blue tooth off and on. Hard restart of phone and watch. It shows the pdf ready to download but when I try it just gets stuck. I have a Motorola phone with Android 12. It was previously working with a charge 5 that died. I also made sure all the permissions are on.

Unfortunately this process didn't work for me.  I've installed 4.25.2 and it did not return functionality to ecg pdf downloads.

Really? If you had the functionality before, you might want to try an even earlier version like 4.25.1 or 4.25

Also make sure your Play Store is set to not automatically update apps.

It looks like September 14th was the day I started using my Charge 6 so I was reasonably confident that the version from 9/11 was appropriate.  I did get pdf downloads briefly in September, but they stopped working at some point and are still "missing".  I'm using a Galaxy S24+ on Android 14.

Did you try the trick posted earlier where you go into the notification bubble (tiny square icon) and see if you can trigger PDF downloads with version 4.25.2 or earlier versions of the app? Might work.

Best Answer

Tried it, but it didn't work. I'll try to go back to an earlier version,  but if 9/14 was my start date then my chances aren't good.

Tried. Didn't work.

@DH246 I almost regret posting the solution that worked for me 😃

I'm on Android 11 which is somewhat dated now so there's that.

I just tried Fitbit 4.23 (14.08.2024) and 4.24 (05.09.2024): With both versions ECG PDF download works fine at Samsung Galaxy S10 with Android 12 and Charge 6.

No reason to regret your post. I'm glad that you found a solution that works. Posting the details may help others find a workable solution as well.  Unfortunately for me 4.25 and 4.25.2 and 4.26 don't work with my Galaxy S24+ on Android 14.

Last test result: versions 4.25.1 and 4.25.2 (16.09.2014) work, 4.26.1 (20.09.2024) and later ones doesn't at my devices.

I have ecg pdf files that were downloaded on September 17 and 20th.  I have none for the many times I took an ecg after my Galaxy S24+ did an Android update on October 12th to Android 14.

I would like to try this method. Unfortunately, I cannot get past the first step. i.e. How do I "set my Play Store settings to not update aps automatically" ?

Thanks for this info.  It took a couple of tries (had never used Mirror before) but now my PDFs are downloading again properly.  I've stopped auto updates so maybe it will stay fixed until the techs get an update that makes that unnecessary.

Which Mirror site and installer did you use?

The one that has Mirror in its name and is preceded by 3 letters. Search google for Fitbit 4.25.2 and it should come up in the first few results.

@HenryKuska "How do I set my Play Store settings to not update aps automatically"

Go into the Play Store, tap your profile picture (upper right on phones), scroll down to "Settings" then "Network Preferences" and "Auto-update Apps" and set it to "Don't auto-update apps"

The Mirror that works has three letters (Adam, Patrick,  Kelly) in the name. The installer is available in the Play Store. You can search for Fitbit app versions at the Mirror and then use the installer.

Has anyone been successful getting the ecg pdf downloads with a Galaxy phone running Android 14? If so, what version of the Fitbit app did you use?

@DaPash "I have none for the many times I took an ecg after my Galaxy S24+ did an Android update on October 12th to Android 14"

Now I see what happened in your case. When your S24 was on a previous version of Android, it allowed you to run version 4.25.2 of the Fitbit app, which is why you were able to briefly download ECG PDFs. But now that it updated itself to Android 14, it won't let you install the old version of the app. Odds are no one on Android 14 was ever able to download ECGs.

You would think that Google would be a little more cautious about creating a conflict with one of their own products, e.g. Fitbit.

Best Answer

You would think Google/Fitbit would scramble the entire team to fix this considering they broke the functionality on Android 14, which is one of their latest OS! This is embarrassing to say the least.

Heads up, Fitbit just dropped version 4.28.2 of their app in the play store.

Please report if this fixes issues for you, I haven't tried it yet.

I updated my Galaxy S24+ which is on Android 14 with the new Fitbit 4.28.2 version.  I also restarted my Charge 6, but still can't download a pdf of an ecg.
