Issue started ~08/19/2024: Fitbit App (on Android) > Edit Exercise > update Activity (i.e., Workout to Walk) > Save > the change doesn't save. Uninstalling/reinstalling the app and restarting didn't fix it. Other ideas?

Hi, @5u2anne! I believe they took away the actual ability to do this a while (weeks?, months?) ago on iOS and even longer ago with Android.

Hi @MakMak! Yeah, this was an issue with the app update late last year/early this year, but it was fixed. I was able to save these edits just last week but it stopped working a few days ago. 😪

The support person I chatted with yesterday said the most recent upgrade (a few days ago) took away all ability to edit activities. He said it was based on "feedback from the customers" (yeah right) and if I/we wanted it back, to post an entry in the Product Feedback section of the Community.

Thank you for sharing this info! That support response is confusing. If they intended to take away that feature, why keep the Activity field available for selection then? Makes users think it's a bug. Anyway, I saw that you already entered it in the Product Feedback section and voted for it. Hopefully, they bring it back.

Hello @5u2anne & @JustAUser2
As you noted, @5u2anne , there was a bug affecting the ability to edit workouts that was partially fixed. However, I'm seeing several users reporting that they can no longer edit their completed workouts in the last couple of weeks.
I'm going to try to escalate the issue and will report back if I learn of an update.

Hello @5u2anne @JustAUser2
The issue has been escalated and the team is working on a fix.
Unfortunately, we don't have any idea on how long it will take to rollout the fix. If I learn of any updates, I'll report back.

The time edits to my workouts, swim sessions, etc. are not being saved. They revert back.
This is happening in the android app and the apple app

There is an old thread for iOS about this exact issue dating back to 2019 with the last report of the issue dating back to the beginning of last year... So my advice.... Don't hold your breath on a fix for this...

Thank you for sharing your experience. I almost upgraded my Pixel watch 2 to the 3, thinking surely with a new watch, there would be improvements to FitBit. Glad to hear the watch is nice, even if FB isn't!
I honestly had high hopes for FitBit when Google purchased them. For a while, many of the things I hated about FB got better, but this kind of issue is just unacceptable from a platform with the kind of developers (that should be) working on it.
Did the Garmin watch integrate smoothly with your Android device? I've heard they're more Apple leaning, but that was from folks with Apple phones.

Is there an update on the status of this issue? I have Charge 6. I start my swim tracking manually rather than have the C6 sense that I am swimming. The Charge 6 tracks my swim time accurately but is very poor on accurately tracking distance. At end of swim, I use the edit function to enter accurate distance. Since August the 'edit \ save' function would work but then the entered edits would revert. The reversion could be seconds or minutes later. Sporadically the edits would 'stick'. Currently, the edits revert in seconds and do not 'stick'. I uninstalled app , restarted phone, reinstalled app. No change. No improvement.

Three months have passed, what's happening? This is maddening, it's basic functionality for a FITness tracker. I've had my charge 6 just under a year and this is another in a string of disappointments relating to software and functionality. I keep hoping it will die or get stolen so I have to get a different tracker.

I've been told repeatedly by Support since Sept that the 'next update' will fix this, but there have been several updates since then and it still doesn't work.
Personally I do not think they plan to fix it.

Please sort this out my sons cheapo watch and app even gets this right and unable to edit and save if not.

This issue was escalated to the team in Aug 2024. It's now December and the issue hasn't been addressed. Perhaps it's time to get a new team.

Today my Fitbit app popped up a 'satisfaction' questionnaire. I responded with low satisfaction on all questions. The app then asked for written comments supporting my responses. I posted the following :
Typical issues include swim and bike ride distance not accurate. App fails to update invalid activity data when a user performs manual edits.

Since August 2024 Google support has failed to address the issues posted by community users and has failed to respond to Google support site:

I'm hoping the coders at 'support.google.com' have programmed the 'AI bots' that read these comments to register both content and 'TONE' of my message
