Estimated Oxygen Variation graph is broken

Hi, I just noticed that the green and yellow lines have changed and now are all over the place on the graph. All graphs for different days start with a 0:00 hrs. The fluctuations are not at all in line with what I was reading up until today.  Anyone experienced this issue?? Thanks

Same exact problem.  Terrifying when I first saw it.  Glad that others have been reporting the problem, too.

Hopefully they roll out a fix to this asap.

Same problem for me on Android. Switched to ipad and no issue. The "new and improved" does not appear on the apple product.

I checked past graphs as well, and had no idea it was changed to this new absurd graph. A few days ago I was able to check past graphs, which were as they used to be, but tried to check today, and found they have all changed. So, I'm to assume I have a severe

"breathing issue!"

Hire some knowledable techs/engineers who know what to do!

This in particular makes zero sense.  How is something like this possible?  There's literally no room for any "high variations" to be occuring here and yet the graph.

Agree. I must say your graph looks pretty good compared to mine.  I have as many yellow spikes as green ones. Yet my sleep score is good and previous graphs show no spikes or 1 or 2.

I wonder which is correct??

I don't believe it has anything to do with changing the color on the app. Everyone seems to be having this issue. Possibly a bug.. hopefully, it will be fixed ASAP.

Your not alone,

Well, if a variation of 1% is now considered a high variation then it's been programmed to expect perfection which the human body won't/can't deliver in a normal night of sleep so there's that.  It may explain why the Fitbit users who have sleep apnea and have commented on this thread have said they have normal graphs when using their CPAP machines.  Just a thought.

The new graph for "Estimted Oxygen Variation" is very confusing.

Prior to the new update it was very easy to see any high variations.  It now ooks like I am constantly having High and Low variations, when prior to the update I rarely had high variations.

HELP!

Usually if I'd wake up with a cough from nighttime allergies or an asthma attack in the middle of the night, I'd have maybe one spike right before the discomfort would wake me up.  There was always a predictable pattern to it.  And my SPO2 data would match up to it.

This isn't anything like that and doesn't make any sense.

I'd put considerable money on it being a software glitch based on it showing up after a major overhaul to the app(specifically to graphs) and the fact that I'm hyper aware of my breathing, having asthma.  Unlike sleep apnea my disease isn't silent.  If I was feeling bad, I'd know and I'd already be needing a hospital.

I'm hoping that Fitbit will work to fix this change to the Oxygen Variation feature of the App as soon as possible. We have a Sense and a Versa in this household. One of us has sleep apnea and uses a CPAP and really appreciated the feedback from the Fitbit Sense on oxygen variation. Before the modification to the app the most variation WITH a CPAP we ever saw was one point at night as undesireable oxygen variation. After the app update, it looks alarming (as everyone else on this thread has indicated). The other Fitbit wearer does NOT have sleep apnea and using the Versa now has an alarming amount of undesirable oxygen variation following the app update. I hope Fitbit is giving this a high priority to fix. Thanks!

I'm surprised that this disaster hasn't been reported somewhere on the
mainstream news media. It would make an interesting story.

Usually places like 9to5google would've gotten wind of it by now.  I checked there and nothing.  Their last article only covers the rollout of the chart update.  No mention of this whatsoever.

Aiden, if you think of your orange spikes as paused breaths and you only have 9 spikes and 4 are barely above the normal O2 variation threshold, then your sleep/breathing looks really good.  I think Fitbit has changed what they display in the graph (actual pauses/events rather than averages of variations over time).  9 spikes in 4 hrs is only about 2 paused breaths per hour.  Criteria for sleep apnea is...

  • Normal sleep: An AHI of fewer than five events, on average, per hour
  • Mild sleep apnea: An AHI of five to 14 events per hour
  • Moderate sleep apnea: An AHI of 15 to 29 events per hour
  • Severe sleep apnea: An AHI of 30 or more events per hour

A lot Fitbit owners are complaining about the new EOV (estimated oxygen variation) graph in the Latest Android version of the smartphone Fitbit App.  I for one am seeing orange spikes throughout the night which were not detected (at least not to this level) with the old EOV graph.  The "EOV broken" thread has dozen of people complaining about the results shown on the new graph...

OLD version of EOV:

New version of EOV:

My question is "Does ANYONE now have a 'normal' (ie. ALL GREEN spikes, NO ORANGE) EOV graph with the NEW ANDROID release of FITBIT APP (version 3.64.#)?"  If so, could you upload your ALL GREEN EOV graph?  (Seeing is believing.)

Please reply to this post ONLY if you are NOT seeing orange/yellow spikes EVERY NIGHT on your EOV graph viewed ONLY on ANDROID PHONE.

Really really lame, Fitbit. This could not have been tested before launch? Your development team act like they're working on a summer comp Sci project. Interface is very poor. And while your at it, please fix the weight graphs which make no sense.

Are we getting a credit back for the days you're working on this? I'd like to pay for what I had b4 your 'improvements'. Fair, right?
