Although this has worked for me my husband is still waiting for his password reset. He has requested it a few times now but nothing is happening. Mine came very quickly. Is there a problem?

No it is all safe, I think its because it is on fitbit database not our phones so when you log back in it will retrieve all your data

did not fix the problem sadly. I also see someone from fitbit said they are working on the problem so it has to be deeper than just clearing cache/data

I've a one plus so I don't have an option to clear data. Do I clear cache or storage?

It should be under the storage option for that app. Settings > apps > fitbit > storage > clear data
I'd be surprised if a one plus had different options as it's Android but maybe it is clear storage on there. I don't have one to check unfortunately.
Try this:

Cache alone isn't enough to fix the issue, data needs to be cleared and it's probably worth a restart after too

There is no "storage" in my fitbit setting on my iPhone.

I cleared both. It fixed the problem and all data was still in the app, despite the dire warning.

This just worked for me! Just make sure you know or reset your password beforehand and clear ALL data - it's backed up on their servers so you won't lose your progress.
