Indeed. Honestly I think that they need to deal with the bad data their end within their app. Expecting everyone to be able to do this will never work and will cause them more support work.

If I use your fix for the problem with the exercise tile it will delete all my previous data is there a way to avoid doing that as clearing the cache didn't fix the issue and I don't really want to delete all my progress

I have a Samsung Galaxy and Clear Data is not an option. I just un-installed and reinstalled, was very sad to lose all my progress but it works now

Don't worry the data is stored online. Login to fitbit.com from any device and you'll see the same data.

It did not save my data, it had no devices linked to my account.I had to re-sync my device (which is a charge 2, now the app only recognizes it as a charge 3😂). The app needs some updating

I too have had trouble with the crash from 23/04/20 when tapping the exercise tile. I looked to community for trouble shooting and followed the instructions on there per "mattfitbit" moderator.
After doing so I've lost everything, all data, stats, settings, goals, profile, the lot gone.
The only way I could do anything was to "add new device" (with current device) hoping it would recognize said device and just sync to how it was....no. All is lost.
Please, does anyone know if there is a back up and restore anywhere I can use to get all settings and data etc back to how it was? Many Thanks

Hi @Snowy9 , I don't think there will be an update because not Fitbit but Google Maps caused the problem. My Garmin had the same problem today and I had to clear data and cache in that app too.
Please try once more to clear your data and cache and be sure to follow @MattFitbit 's instructions.

I discovered the same problem yesterday, friday 24, when I wanted to track my long distance walk.
I see here that ppl had the problem from thursday and I wonder why it takes so long to solve.
My app crashed before I did the update (and than I did the update to see if that would solve the problem).
Cannot start a training and cannot view previous stats.
Saw many responses here from ppl that tried everything but it didn't work.
Can we expect an update soon?

Has anyone actually done this with any success? i really don't want to lose all my past hx data which is what happens when you clear data according to the on screen information. seem they are also working on a "fix" so rather wait for that?? thanks in advance

Hi @govikster , I think you accidently deleted the app and disconnected your tracker or something. Only clearing data and cache will not delete your history.
Please close (not deleting!) the app and login again with your credentials.
Neither should you disconnect your device from the app. It is just not necessary and sometimes it can take a lot of time to reconnect it afterwards.
If your device is already connected, you cannot connect it again while it is still connected.
Please be carefull to not experiment if you are not shure about the consequences. You can consider to contact Support to prevent more problems.

Hi @SrRojo , I agree, you shouldn't delete/reinstall the app because it has no use in this case.
I thought I mentioned that.

I can only speak for myself but I cleared both storage and cache (despite dire warnings from phone re the former).
This solved the problem and all my historical data is still there.
