Hi everyone. We’re aware of an issue that may cause the Fitbit app to quit unexpectedly when you open the Exercise tile.

To fix an issue where the Fitbit app unexpectedly crashes when you open the Exercise tile, follow these steps. Note you’ll need to log back into the Fitbit app with your email address and password.

  1. On your phone, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps > Fitbit > Storage.
  3. Tap Clear Data.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and log in.
  5. Be sure to accept the requests for your phone to access your location, notifications, and other settings.

Thanks for taking the time to report this issue. I assure you that our team is aware and working on finding a resolution. I will be sure to keep you all updated as more information becomes available.

that fix worked!  for a couple of days.  now it won't sync at all, but I believe it is a fitbit-wide problem.

I went back and reread the Amazon ad I purchased through and found no mention of an internet requirement.
After searching the ad for "internet", I did find a customer review, from last April complaining about this architecture and him finding an old forum complaining about it.
I've added my review to Amazon make others aware of the requirement.

The app appears to be working again!  I can access my data and all appears normal.  Guess I'll know more when I try entering data, but it looks as usual.  Hope everyone else finds the same.

I know.
I heard it was fixed in the last hour. However it’s not fixed for me. I deleted the app, turned off my iPhone & it didn’t fix it. 😡

Just want to confirm that the steps above worked for me.  First time I've been able to see this data in a week, even though I tried these steps before.  Thanks!

My exercise tile still crashes when I try to open it. Have you fixed the problem? How do I apply the fix to my Fitbit? Where do I go if I need someone to walk me through the steps to fix this.

The instructions for Android are in various places in this thread, but here they are again:

  1. On your phone, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps > Fitbit > Storage.
  3. Tap Clear Data.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and log in.

Depending on your Android version, the data clearing options may be slightly different.  It worked for me when I cleared the cache and the data.  I recommend syncing first to make sure your data is backed up.  Good luck!
