After weeks of frustration I've finally found a solution today. Android 13, Z Flip 4.
I installed Fitbit on my old ipad and linked to my Fitbit Luxe. It connected straight away and said it was updating the watch. When the update finished I went back to my Samsung Z Flip 4, uninstalled Fitbit (Again!) and reinstalled. I left it installing on the phone next to the watch. When I went back it had not only installed but it had connected to the Luxe & was completely up to date. Obviously something the ipad did sorted the watch.
Prior to this I tried everything other people are describing and spoke to Fitbit (useless). Good luck.

My fitbit synced 12/16/22 for the first time since 12/1/22. I have tried EVERYTHING and spoke to EVERYONE!!! When I got home, it stopped syncing again.
I'm so aggravated.

Please stop to spread that kind of comments..... watch and App is Fitbit.......THIS IS A FITBIT ISSUE...... all other devices from other company haven't any problem with Android 13....... the way you are thinking, you can easily get a fitbit's job for sure.
@No69 that doesn't look for all customers which have fitbit devices.... Fitbit asked you to send back the one you just got........ to me, that means it is not a software issue ( code programming ) ..... looks more like hardware issue........so, we are all f*** if it is the case.... you should ask for refund and buy from other company.

Buffer issue?
I'm so sick of FitBit. What the hell?
Start calling repeatedly and complaining. I'm asking for my money back.

had a Sumsung update yesterday on my Fold 4. No change in the sync issues reported. I contacted support through chat today. My Charge 5 is less than a year old but is not eligible for an warranty according to them. Below is the cut and paste response I received. So disappointing to get such a poor level of service.
Thanks for letting us know about this issue. We’re aware of it and are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible.
We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.
unfortunately you can not return us the Fitbit device for a refund, please remember that the time frame for this process is for 45 days.
We are glad to inform you that our team is working very hard trying to resolve this issue

Hi, Any update on this fix?

Husband's Charge 5 will not sync with Samsung Flip 3 phone. Have tried complete reset of both devices several times without success. (The Charge 5 will happily connect & sync with older phone) Read about Fitbit update to fix this problem & yes, can see that update has now been applied to device.... but it is still not syncing.
Help!!
Any ideas if / when this problem will be resolved?
Should I just return Charge 5 and get refund?

It's all well and good to get your steps via a second device but that only covers the step counting aspect.
It does not however solve the other big problem that this should be a smartwatch and provide notifications and quick replies - none of that is currently working.
I've tried reaching out various ways by no one is giving any timeline of fix.

General Bluetooth problem for all Flip and Fold Samsung devices after Andorid 13 release.
The Default Bluetooth MTU (maximum length of an atribute protocol packet transmision unit) size is 23 bytes.
Most devices setup it to 512 bytes for faster communication (517 is max).
On Flip and Fold - even requested - it was not changed.
So, THE problem is in Samsung.
As a workaround other companies (like Fitbit) adopt their communication to this mtu (with new firmwares of their devices).
Until Samsung fix their stuff ... someday.
The interestiing thing is that Andorid 13 for other Samsung S and A series do not have this problem.

P.P.
I've red that "Google caim that Android 13 have newer way for communication, so devices must adopt".
Is this means - cut off for old devices?
The most funny thing is that Fitbit is part of Google family 🙂
