Failing to sync after Android 13 update Samsung Flip/Fold

I updated to Android 13 today.
From then on, no sync possible anymore.
I already:

  • Restarted my phone
  • Shut down the phone completly
  • Force quit Fitbit
  • Deleted and reinstalled Fitbit (should be the newest version)
  • Reset the Charge 5
  • Shut down Google Assistant (apparently that's a problem with the Sense and Android 13)
  • Restarted Bluetooth several times
  • Hard Reset the Charge 5

Now I'm stuck with a watch that can't be connected anymore and is stuck in install mode.

Edit: To clarify. The Charge 5 is being seen via bluetooth, i get's found by the app, but it doesn't complete the connection.

After almost 7 weeks, my charge 5 is again functional. Based on advice
here, I followed the procedure below.

Go to app store and update the fitbit app on flip 4.
Unpair BT with charge 5 from my other phone.
Clear data on charge 5.
Clear cache for fitbit app on flip 4.
Add device on fitbit app on flip 4.

The charge 5 and the app responded properly to complete the setup.

Thanks to those who provided advice, and wish speedy forward for anyone
still waiting.

Fitbit charge 5 is not syncing with my z flip 3 AFTER updating app version to 3.73. Before I realized it was a known issue I unpaired my fitbit and now that I have the update it won't pair up again. It's getting farther than it was before the update - when trying to pair it gets to the point where it shows a code on the fitbit and asks me to enter it on the app - but now it just spins forever after that.

I have tried:

  • turning bluetooth on and off
  • reinstalling the fitbit app
  • three pulse restart
  • clearing fitbit app cache
  • checking for android updates (phone is up to date)
  • restarting phone

Reaching the point where pagan sacrifice seems like a reasonable troubleshooting step but I figured I'd check here before that. Seriously though, pretty stumped and a little frustrated, would appreciate help.

Hi everyone, and welcome to our new members.

Thanks for your continued reports, as well as sharing the steps that worked for you. As mentioned before, our team released thAndroid Fitbit App 3.73 which brings a fix for the syncing issues with Samsung Galaxy Z Flip/Fold phones.

While this update should be available for all our members, please try these steps if it's not visible in the Play Store:

  1. Open the Settings app on your phone.
  2. Tap Apps > Fitbit > Force Stop.
  3. Uninstall the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  4. Reinstall the Fitbit app and log back into your account.
  5. Pull down on the screen to force a manual sync.

Your patience is truly appreciated and keep us posted on the outcome.

Why was my post changed to a response to this thread?
The given answer in this thread does not resolve the issue for me - I have app version 3.73 and have tried everything described.

Just in case i have a flip 3 and charge 4, it took me to the same place as you where you enter the pairing code. I left it connecting for about 15/20 mins and then it did work, just needed to be left for a while.

I am not the Fitbit person, just a customer. Finally, today, the Fitbit app
upgrade to 3.73 fixed all and my Charge 5 now pairs with my Z Fold 3 and
all is working.

Jan 18/23 now and still waiting for some resolution, at this point there is no update available to apply. It is beyond frustrating after using Fitbit since 2015!!

The Charge 5 now shows up as a paired device but it still won't sync. Going to Fix It and trying to get it to connect just continues searching for the device.

Hello @Cris1500 and welcome to the Community.  Did you set your iPad to receive notifications from your Charge 4 when it became your default syncing device.  Allowing notifications makes a tight Bluetooth bond with your iPad.  I can't sync with my iPad because I get notifications on my iPhone.

I'm moving your post to the Android forum, since you are having issues with your Android syncing.

Ok, I got really excited. My Samsung Fold 4 had a Samsung update on 1/17/23, So, I updated and then went to look at the Version, Version ended in BWA2. But I attempted to pair, and it did not work! And yes, I did all the troubleshooting steps!
This morning I checked the FitBit App Version and it shows 3.73. So once again I tried to pair and that did not work either!
So, now it's been 2 months with no pairing. I am in Central NJ and on A T & T, luckily, I have a tablet which does pair and so not completely down and my Fitbit app on my fold 4 does update but not directly!
Just updating in case anyone else gets the Samsung update!
