Fitbit Update: 8/15
Hey all!
This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.
A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.
Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.
Fitbit Update: 8/6
Hey everyone!
Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.
We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app.
Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.
Fitbit Update: 6/17
Hi Fitbit Family,
We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the Google App play store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.
Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.
Fitbit Update: 5/23
Hi everyone!
We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.
Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!
Fitbit Update: 4/24
Hi everyone!
Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.
You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?
As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.
We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

I'm not saying that it will hurt them or not. I'm simply adding to a discussion between Fitbit users, and we should not assume any Fitbit employee is reading these comments.

Hi @Rich_Laue, further to your remark about not assuming that any fitbit staff are looking at these comments. I have noticed that some of the moderators' have been saying that they are, which is a change in tactic. Also I notice there is a push all the time of telling us to make sure our app is up to date. That, I think, is not very fair on the zip users who appear to have been bricked by these recent updates. Also the charge 2 users are being hit by app updates and a firmware update that seem to be finishing off their fitbits. As a UK charge 2 owner whose fitbit is functional I have blocked auto updates for the app and think I shall have to ignore the firmware if I can when they get around to me.
There is little from the moderators that seems to help and all this is on top of the failure to get text notifications functioning correctly, and the problems with Android 9 soon to be 10.
With all this I am surprised that they sell any new products. When mine finally fails I'm not replacing it with another fitbit, too much will it won't it work for me.

They have a "churn & burn" approach to the industry. They are the only dirty player left and they survive by feeding and loading reviewers and review sites, if you look carefully at these you can see they're all thinly disguised marketing fronts. I suggest going with any company except fitbit their future is limited to whoever buys them out when they crash and burn which they surely will. Their model over the last 2 years is unsustainable in a competitive technology driven market.

You bring up some very valid points, especially the one about Fitbit pushing so hard about always using the latest app (so they can hide more and more features behind pay walls), and aggressively pushing out firmware updates to older devices, which sounds a lot like Apples approach when they got caught purposely slowing down older iPhones with updates to get people to buy new iPhones. I wouldn't be at all surprised if that's what Fitbits doing as well.
When somebody mentioned that Fitbit was the last of the dirty players in the fitness tracker market I would have to agree....they seem to be using similar tactics to Apple, and Apple has badly damaged their reputation (I think irreparably) with all the underhanded things they've been doing lately. Fitbits doing the same thing with their reputation, except they don't have the deep pockets and brand recognition to absorb the damage like Apple.
Good luck Fitbit, I highly suspect you're going to need it.

I wish I had gone here before updating. The new interface is atrocious and as you said there is no way of going back to the previous version!

Hi silvermetis,
Thank you for the suggestion. Reverted back to an older version, but the user interface remains the same 😞

Hi Ian_UK
The new dashboard is an update to your installed fitbit app and is separately downloaded in my case I was sent a message offering me a new experience once downloaded your dashboard changes.
I have not tried it but I would have thought reinstalling an old version of fitbit app and refusing to except "new experiences" would revert you to old dashboard. Have you tried it?

Hi silvermetis,
Even though I installed an old version of the Fitbit app I was not given the option of refusing the "new experiences". It seems that once you have accepted, even though you install an older version it will not allow you to revert back.
I normally expect with updates that things are improved. However, the visual appearance of the interface with the "new experiences" is in my opinion really poor. Icons have shrunk and are quite small. From an accessibility and inclussion perspective, anyone with a visual impairment may find this new design harder to view. Previously I could easily read the interface without putting on my glasses but now find I can't. There is also a lot of wasted white space. This means that you have to scroll down the page to view the same information which was previously visible on the previous interface.

Not crazy about it. Think it's harder to find what I'm looking for. Think.it was unnecessary.

I'm really disliking the new dashboard.
The app is erratic and often won't bring up the heart rate graphs.
I can't get the little cartoon cards to permanently go away (I already "learned more", thanks. I don't need to "learn more" again).
I don't like having to scroll the page to get to the information that used to nicely fit in one screen.
I really wish I had the option to go back to the old design.

With the new dashboard, I can no longer load my widget on my Android phone - do you know if that is an Android issue or a Fitbit issue? Is the widget no longer compatible? It showed my steps throughout the day and I want it back!

Am i really dumb? I can't find anywhere on the new app on setting the alarm. This is one of the main functions i use my watch for.

I looked at mine and if I click my picture at the top left, and the the Blaze under devices, silent alarms is listed. If I click on the Versa, silent alarms is not listed so I looked at the Versa itself, and alarms are set on the Versa watch and not the app. Guessing your device is one or the other?
