Fitbit Update: 8/15

Hey all!

This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.

A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.

Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.

Fitbit Update: 8/6

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.

We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app

Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 6/17

Hi Fitbit Family,

We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the Google App play store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.

Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 5/23

Hi everyone!

We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.

Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!

Fitbit Update: 4/24

Hi everyone!

Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.

You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?

As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.

We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

I see what your saying. But mine and I think many does not look like that. There is no option to add what you have there.

Are you on apple? Wonder if that's the difference?

I'm Android

I have an S8 plus.

First, I was never asked to opt-in to this new version. When I open the app my current step count does not appear at the top of the screen. My search to fix this shows me that it should automatically be there. Please tell me how to fix this issue.

Best Answer

I got the new dashboard but I did not, knowingly sign up to it - it just changed. Anyway, I can't see my step count at all and it is not easy to use. How can I get the same information as I had on my old dashboard?

Best Answer

None of my basic stats are anywhere on the app. No steps. No stairs. Nothing. Help!!

Have you all read the beta's flight notes to see how you can get around with the problems you all encountering?

Lots of confusion and I blame no one but Fitbit, they need to have a proper way of testing new app features. I'm here ready to test anything and yet no beta update prompt on my phone.

FitbitSense, TeamFitbit, TeamPixel, Scientist, Gamer!

If you're invited to opt in.... That's my issue. I have asked for anything, my phone auto updated and I'm left with this awful app. Should be trialled before out out to the public. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

I'm on Android and the stats do not show on "today". No option to add step count. Isn't that the point of the app in the first place?? It seems to be working for some, but clearly not all.

Best Answer
None of those options are when I select edit. Just options things I don't
need like letting me know if I got 250 steps in an hour. All I want is my
step count and that is no longer there.

@AlessFitbit I'm just wondering why you make an announcement like this, and then disappear?  Where are you or anyone from Fitbit for that matter, after over 50 people here are complaining that the update doesn't work properly, and doesn't show steps!? Why is there crickets coming from Fitbit on this after the last few days? How many more complaints do you need before someone from Fitbit will actually step up and admit there's a problem and tell us what you're doing about it to fix it? Why has there been no one from Fitbit saying anything about this since the complaint started rolling in? When you fail to respond after touting this as a great new thing, and yet you know that there are major problems with a, it begins to tell a story about the company itself and how inattentive and uncaring they are towards their customers. I wonder how long it'll actually be before someone from Fitbit address is this? For any of you reading this, who are on the fence about buying a Fitbit, take a look when is Fitbit moderator posted this thread, how many days have gone by, and how many complaints there have been with not a single reply from Fitbit. Then dry your own conclusions how about if you should be spending your $200 plus on a Fitbit or perhaps something else.

My fitbit is not syncing with the app automatically.   I have to go in and select sync.

Best Answer

My app updated automatically too and I now can't work out how to set silent alarms. If there are any instructions anywhere them they're well hidden!I really annoying - how on earth do you do it or has that functionality now gone?!?!??

Best Answer

The new version is awful and gives less relevant updates. I had no choice to opt in or not it just updated automatically. I would like to revert to the old version as the new one is pointless. Not happy!

Best Answer

Why make all the icons small? The big ones were easy to see and it's not like scrolling to see others was difficult. You've made the app very difficult for people with vision problems. I want my old app back.

Best Answer

i have to go to the full website and even then I have to go through the log to find my daily steps. It is no longer on the dashboard and I am unable add it.

Best Answer

How can they roll out a big, grand update (that I did not opt into, by the way) and not show daily step totals front and center when you log in?  I have tried and tried to edit the today page to show my steps and can not find how to do so.  Very frustrating! That's the most important piece of information for me on my fitbit, and now I can't see it?  I can't believe I had to edit the today page to add heart rate, active hours, food, water, sleep, etc. but showing steps taken for the day is nowhere to be found.

What is going on with Fitbit surely there needs to be some response or some update on how this can be fixed at some point in the future? My iPhone I use for work has not changed and is fine. Maybe this is a Samsung S8 problem? From reading other posts it seems people are seeing different things. On my Samsung my dashboard has completely disappeared so no steps / floors / active minutes / average heart rate shown at the top.

Best Answer

They are slowly rolling the update out to people. Some iPhone users already have the new version, so you can assume your iPhone will change soon as well.

To Vote for a choice between the new and old dashboard, go to "Feature Suggestions" - then "Allow customers to choose between dashboards" should be near the top of the list.

My phone is a Motorola. It's not just a Samsung issue.

The customer support people say that the engineers know and are working
on it, but that they know nothing about what the planned fix is or when
it will happen. There's no way for anyone to contact the engineers so we
will not know anything unless Fitbit decides to share.
Best Answer

I have a Google Pixel XL, so I know the glitch affects more than Samsung phones. I hope they can fix it soon, or give people the option to roll back to the previous version. It would be nice to hear something from Fitbit on this issue!
