How am i supposed to trust anything on this thing when it said my heart rate was 99. Actual heart rate was 149

@Ljb0328 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Sorry to hear that your Fitbit device is showing an incorrect heart rate reading. Which device do you have? Try cleaning the back of the device with cotton and rubbing alcohol. After this restart it. Also make sure that you follow these instructions to improve the heart rate reading. Finally check that there isn't too much sweat in the are and if there is you could use a sport wristband to clean this from the device.
