My Samsung app logs steps - usually count is within a few steps of FitBit app. Yesterday was fine. Today I have been doing loads of extra steps... and there are about 7,000 steps missing on FitBit (which is what feeds my progress on fitness challenges). Very frustrating. Any ideas?

Welcome to the Forums @MSDN.
Thanks for sharing those details on the matter.
In this case it is possible that it's the syncing that is not happening correctly. My suggestion would be that you try to manually sync your Fitbit to your app. You can do this by pulling down on the app. That will force sync your Fitbit and should get all data to display correctly.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello @MSDN.
Thanks for letting me know about that it seems to be the app itself.
In addition to that, I'd like to ask if this has happens again ever since then or was it only that once? In addition to that I'd like to ask what Fitbit device is it that you are using.
Look forward to your reply.

Hello @MSDN.
Thanks for reaching back with all of those details.
In this case I'd recommend that when it happens you try to manually log a walking activity to get some steps registered on your account. That way you will not be missing those steps from your personal records. Do keep in mind that manually logged steps do not count towards challenges or friend leaderboards.
Feel free to let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello @MSDN.
Thanks for sharing that you need the tracking for that app.
In this case I'd like to ask, do you ever get a message that the app was closed on its own? Or do you have any sort of battery improvement software that could be closing the Fitbit app while it is working in the background.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Really frustrating as this has happened again. I have done over 7,000 steps today and Fitbit app on my Android has captured less than 200. I have screen captures to demonstrate.
This is really a lackluster experience with the Fitbit app. This has now happened multiple times.

If possible please do share the screenshots of the steps not being tracked correctly. I'd like to take a closer look at what is going on.
