I have a surge paired to a Huawei p8. I have tried all the different fixes listed in various forums. I have notification on in the all on my phone set to Huawei contacts. I have notifications on on my surge. I get absolutely nothing. Anyone with a P8 solved this problem. I have later Android and fitbit versions.

Same here. I also have the latest update of the App and Firmware but I still can't sync to my Charge 2 using my P9 Lite.

@Su.se.tte I followed some of the steps above and managed to get to adding the pairing code on the tracker to the phone but then it failed after that.
It would be interesting to hear from anyone who can sync with no problems at all.
I hoped that the upgrade to EMUI 5 might of helped but I think others on here are running that version with no joy.

Hi Erick,
Do you have any idea when will the team test these devices? (P9, P9Lite) Just because newer devices are out now...
I received my Charge2 today and have the same problem (on P9 Lite). I was allowed to write 4 numbers at pairing, but then nothing happened for a long time. Later it seemed that my mobile cannot find tracker's sign and said: try again... 😞
Thanks

I sometimes wonder if the issue is more to do with the list being maintained as it is with making new phones work with fitbit.

Unfortunately it seems that both are the case, I think Fitbit have completely given up with Android.

The Huawei P9 and P9 Lite have all the hardware requirements to be supported devices but are currently not on our list of supported devices. This means that our Android team has not yet tested them for compatibility and added them to the list. If the device supports BLE (AKA Bluetooth 4.0), I recommend giving the setup flow a try.
If setup does not work, I recommend setting up and syncing via a device listed as supported or using a computer. Our team is always working to test and add more Android devices to the supported devices list, so keep an eye open for updates!

This is just ridiculous! I have bought my godson this expensive birthday gift to motivate him to do more exercise. He was totally up for it. And now he can't use it because he has the Huaweu P9 Lite.
This thread has been going for a year!!

I have sent back my Charge 2 yesterday because it doesn't work with my phone (P9 Lite).
@ErickFitbit: I'm sorry but this was your answer on 23/03/2017 too... I think time has arrived to wake up the testing team from their sleep since 2015...
Newer and newer phones are coming out nearly every week! What should be so complicated on testing??? Maybe one guy working only...
In 2017 this is an unacceptable attitude from a company which makes "smart watches" what is not so expensive....
I'm sure I won't buy Fitbit product again.
Great attitude! Congrats...!

Can You tell precisely when Phones like P9 lite will work with Fitbit charge 2? I'm planning to buy about 30 bands for my sport Team and I have to decide quickly.... I have p9 lite myself ...
Treating a Fitbit as a reliable and serious company, I expect a concrete response.
Best Regards Piotr

Hi,
I just bought Charge 2 yesterday and have P9 Lite for almost a year. I didn't realize about the compatibility when I bought it. But I borrowed my friend's phone and got Charge 2 firmware updated. And now it is working fine with P9 Lite. Hope this helps P9 Lite users.

Hi,
I noticed that firmware need to be updated. I updated it using my friend's mobile:-
1. downloaded fitbit apps in his mobile
2. logged in using my account
3. get Charge 2 firmware updated.
4. then I logged into fitbit in my P9 Lite
It is connecting just fine including Whatsapp messages. Not real-time though, got delayed by 2 mins.

The first complaints that the P9 Litte does not synchronize (not that notifications do not work, but does not even synchronize, which should work with any Bluetooth device) were in October.
7 months later and being one of the most demanded threads in all languages of the community, and still unresolved.
They get a new version of the monitor, and still do not appear on the list the Huawei P9 and P9 litte.
For a product that is sold by word of mouth it should take less time to solve these types of problems.
At the moment if someone asks me about my Alta I have to say that it is rubbish, that they do not look at any FitBit product and that they take the monitor of any other brand of those that are worth € 20 and work the first.
An intelligent bulb of € 25 fixed the problems of synchronization in less than 1 week. A monitor of 120 € October-May and no view of arrangement.

Does it work when you friend's phone is not nearby? I suspect you're syncing thru internet (wifi), and not thru a direct Bluetooth sync with your own phone.
When will it be compatible with Bluetooth 4.1???? Pretty soon no fitbit device will sync with modern phones and laptops!
