Huawei P9 & Lite Compatibility

I have a surge paired to a Huawei p8. I have tried all the different fixes listed in various forums. I have notification on in the all on my phone set to Huawei contacts. I have notifications on on my surge. I get absolutely nothing. Anyone with a P8 solved this problem. I have later Android and fitbit versions.

I find that so frustrating. I have posted my own reviews trying to alert potential customers but there's only so much individuals can do.

I'm assuming that in the past most professional reviewers have either been using iPhones or Samsung Galaxy S7 hence they wouldn't be aware of the issues with Android.

The S7 is no longer the top notch Android phone so hopefully the reviewers will test with the S8 or Google Pixel and wake up to the problems. Fitbit can't keep this a secret for ever!

S8 and Pixel are not supported?

No, there are threads about that, this problem is going to be HUGE for
Fitbit. I just don't understand what they're doing.

My brother was scathingly telling me that I should have bought a 'proper'
phone (he has a Charge with an S7 and is the one who encouraged me to get a
Fitbit). He is starting to realise that it's not just Huawei phones that
have problems.

Interestingly there are lots of (much cheaper) copycat Chinese Fitbit-style
trackers that are apparently compatible with the latest phones. Don't
understand why Fitbit can't sort it out!

They don't deserve to stay in business....

Same problem here as well. Can't sync my P9 Lite device with Charge 2. Even though I managed to pair with my Blackberry and Microsoft devices.

Shame Fitbit!

Who marking these threads as SOLVED?!

Please undo! Issue is not SOLVED!!!!!!

Perhaps it's solved to the extent they have given up supporting any new
Android phones? If this is the case there is no excuse for marketing these
trackers with an Android logo on the packaging!

When will the Huawei P9 lite be supported. As a new owner of a fitbit it makes me very uneasy to see posts going back so many months from users requesting support for this device and still no support. Very disappointed and considering returning the tracker.

I'd return it while you can, no new phones have been added to the list of compatible devices for months, even bestselling flagship phones like Google Pixel and Samsung S8 aren't supported. I've been told by Fitbit that there is no timeline for making the P9 Lite compatible and to contact my retailer for a refund!

Alta vs Misfit RayAlta vs Misfit RaySo I took delivery of my new Misfit Ray this afternoon. Does everything my original Flex 2 did (including tracking swimming) and IT PAIRS WITH MY P9 LITE!!!😀😀😀. There are lots of options for alternative straps too such as leather and paracord. I think it looks really good. Perhaps an option for those frustrated Flex/Alta users who just want a simple step and sleep tracker.

Now to get my money back from Fitbit!

OK. I bought the Samsung note4. Paired it. Updated the software,
automated.
Disconnected from the Samsung note4.
Paired with the Huawei. But if the synchronisation work? I'll know (be
back) the weekend to know for sure. Child's watch.
Fitbit is the worst company to deal with. BUT the kids, they love this
thing. Already saving for the next child against my wishes

You suggest using a computer to pair? This is not a solution. I paid extra for the fitbit Alta HR, because I wanted the notifications, if I have to sync via a computer I lose a major functionality that I paid for. How about you listen to your customers and fix this issue!!!!!

Hi

It's been 9 months since I first started reading the blogs about how fitbits don't sync with Huawei p9 or the lite versions. They still don't. Perhaps it's something to do with a little app called 'health' I found on the phone that links through to 'jawbone' a competitor product. Whatever it is it seems unlikely that I will be buying any more fitbit products that don't work properly.

I stopped using my Huawei because I need the points from the Fitbit to save money on my high deductible health plan at work.  I'm using my friend's old iPhone 4 just because of the Fitbit issue.

Just setup your device to pair with USB Bluetooth dongle to PC. That's what I've done with my Blaze so I can continue to use my  Moto Z.

I understand the dilemma.
I love the fitbit but love the phone more.
I just wish there was no need to decide.
