Is the lg v20 able to connect for text messages and such?

It's a brand new phone so wasn't sure why I couldn't get it to connect.

Hey there @mwheat13! The LG V10 is listed as supported. You can now sync your tracker and receive notifications from it.

Hope this helps. Robot Happy

Hi guys,

I found some way to receive text and call with LG v20.

First of all, open fitbit app and go in charge 2 menu by tapping charge 2 icon then choose something like "menu items" (i am using chinese language and dont know how to choose english), then tick "notification" on. Your charge 2 is able to display notification item when you press the button of your charge 2, then hold the button to let notification on. Finally your watch is able to receive text and call. Hope its help all of you

I just bought a fit bit flex, was very excited until i realized i cannot even use it because i have an LG V20. I dont understand....... How can this even be so? I see message boards from almost a year ago on here and still no way to make the fitbit app compatible with all smart phones? We are living in 2017 right..... you are the largest supplier of fit trackers right..... I don't understand why this cannot be fixed.

LG V30 is coming! Why still can't sync with V20!? Ridiculous!

Best Answer

If I have to switch from fitbit to something else because LG V20 is not supported, it is not likely that I will come back to Fitbit.  My place of employment requires fitness trackers and that is approximately 400,000 associates.  You might want to concentrate on getting Fitbit to Sync with new phones rather than creating more devices that cannot communicate with newer phones.

Thank you so much for your feedback @Ramhemi4x4! Fitbit is always working to add more supported devices to the list, however, before adding any device it needs to be fully tested in order to confirm it will properly work with Fitbit trackers.

Don't forget to keep checking the list to keep yourself updated with new devices added.

I downloaded the Fitbit app through the gogle play store, logged in using my existing account (LG V10  crashed, got a new LG V20 yesterday) and in that account updated my surge and synced it automatically... sooooo, I’m not sure why its not listed as supported still, ( i just checked it, and it says it cannot be found). Am i doing something different than everyone else, or am i really synced in to my phone? I tried to attach pics of snapshots but not successful.

Hi sylvia-

thisis not an acceptable answer. The V20 was the Flagship phone for LG, just like the Galaxy is for Samsung. For it to not be supported is unacceptable.  It's already been replaced by LG with a newer model. Come on guys. Don't make us all return our fitbits!

Best Answer
I 100% agree. It's unacceptable.

I wasn't having a problem at all when I had the Blaze. I got the Ionic for
Christmas and it has hooked up but the syncing doesn't work as well. We
have sorry WIFI here at home so that may have something to do with it.
What Fitbit do you have?

I have a charge, and Fitbit has stated they have no intentions on making
their products work with LG phones

Mine is working great...it's an LG V20...

Are you able to see texts and control music with your device? I think that's the only difference with my lgv20 now versus the v10 before. Otherwise, all my steps, sleeps, heart rate and activities are synching just fine. Any thoughts

Best Answer
It would never Bluetooth connect to my V20, therefore it would not
communicate with my V20

I was able to communicate, sync, everything with my iPad, so I was
satisfied with that. My work ties Insurance Premiums to an activity event
each year, so I propably will recircle the wagons next year when it happens
and pick a different wrist device.

Besides, my wrist band fell apart, so my fit bit is sitting on a shelf

Hello All,

Just tried to set up notifications just like what @Beckydonald did and now my text messaging notification works. I set it up through the settings option for notification in the app I downloaded. So it works for now, at least for the fit bit surge that I have.
