My Fitbit does not maintain pairing to my samsung s7. I have always paired using Fitbit classic but lately it keeps dropping out. Now it simply won’t pair at all. I have just tried uninstalling and installing Fitbit classic and it looks completely different. Firstly the interface is nothing like the old one and the icon is a pair of shoes. Has there been some kind of update? If so can it be rolled back because that could well be my problem.
Note reading the solutions to this problem with pairing that others are having I noted that supposedly you only use classic for music. But if I don’t use classic nothing syncs. Not steps, time, sleep nothing. I wondered what the plain blase icon was for. It doesn’t seem to do anything. Can you help me here? I ready to throw this Fitbit in the bin. It’s no use if I can’t pair it to my phone.

Hi there @KarleneM, great to have you here as a new member of the Fitbit Community! My apologies for the late response and I was reading your post that your tracker is not able to stay paired to your Samsung S7, despite trying different solutions on your own to address the issue.
I'm still have some doubts of the issue you are experiencing, since as you mentioned on your post. Bluetooth classic is only for Music control and not to pair your tracker. The majority of the Fitbit features work through the bluetooth of your phone, however using exclusively the Fitbit app.
Also by the description of the user interface of the app, you mentioned you can see only a pair of shoes. Which I'm not sure, but I believe this is the Fitbit widget.
However, depending if the issue persists, would you mind to share a few screenshot of what you are seeing? This will be very helpful in order to have a closer look to the issue you are experiencing. If you need help uploading screenshot this post will served as a reference.
For more help with the syncing issues you mentioned on your post, I would recommend the following article in the meantime: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?
Regarding the pair of shoes as icon you brought to my attention, review this help section to see if this is not your scenario: How do I add a Fitbit widget to my Android phone?
I'll be looking forward to your response in case you need more help.

Hi there @KarleneM, thank you for the additional details, I'm sorry until now I was able to review your response.
I saw you decided to pair your tracker with an iPad. The reason you are overseas should not affect the pairing process. However having airplane mode will do. This option will disable all communication options with your iPad regardless if it has a Sim, the reason of this is because will disable the Bluetooth, hence your tracker won't be able to find your mobile device.
See you until the next opportunity!
