Fitbit Update 06/7/17: Thanks everyone for your feedback on the new Android dashboard. We have relayed this information to our Android team. This thread will now be closed, as the Android team has no plans to revert back to the old dashboard. We're always working towards making improvements to the app and appreciate your cooperation on future app updates.

Fitbit Update 05/22/2017: Hi everyone -- I've read through every post in this thread and the major feedback points and concerns can be summarized as the following:

  • General disappointment with the change (no specific details provided)
  • Lots of empty space/more scrolling/clicks required
  • Bottom tiles don't scroll data with days
  • Unable to fully customize top section with tiles from the bottom section
  • Prefer linear UX design
  • Difficult to read/no dark theme available
  • Can't swipe between days, only able to click to scroll through days
  • Can't to resize tiles

Please let me know if there's something specific that is not on this list. I have relayed this information to our Android team and at this time, it doesn't sound like there are any plans to revert access to the old Dashboard.

I know that any change is going to be a little jarring, but please remember to keep your posts respectful and on-topic, per our Community Guidelines. This thread will be better for everyone as a constructive conversation.

Fitbit Update 04/24/2017: Hi everyone -- Beginning with the release of the Android app version 2.48, the new Fitbit app Dashboard with the updated look will be fully implemented. Users will no longer have the option to switch to the old Dashboard design, so I encourage you to check it out if not already using it.

We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services and we appreciate all of the feedback we receive from our customers. We currently do not have any plans to revert this change; you can find more information about the app and how to start using it by clicking here.

@BobM2 AND @NY2TX There maybe a ""small"" amount of complainers bet every purchase counts and the small minority talk to their family, friends and work colleagues - the small amount of complainers are not listened to can soon escalate and either make or break a company,

now as I have said in previous posts we should have the option or at least compromise with the suggestions made both in here and on the features board - just 1 example is the large locked tile that has wasted space within it no lets say I am in a wheelchair, fitness is still paramount but I neither want to see floors nor steps - now I can remove those functions but I am left with a larger unutilised space instead of fitbit coming to a compromise and unlocking that tile and allowing me to customise it with say heart rate and sleep and moving the others to the bottom, and the arrow on the left hand side should give you ALL previous days data instead of having to tap the tile and then tap date / yesterday / whatever date - don't think for one minute that us complainers are complaining about not losing weight, getting fitter etc just the fact the information the dashboard used to supply as a total summary is no longer available...I don't mind change and could possibly get used to it with some compromise, not the developer's daughter whose probably (18) likes it so we will go with it and ignore every negative comment.......companies fail if the top level only get smoke blown up there ........ they need to know the faults as well no matter how small, if not how are they supposed to get better.....im not stupid enough to have purchased on the promise of weight loss I purchase for the fact looking at the data that was provided when I purchased AND is still being shown on site gave me the option to set small daily goals to try and beat outside of the challenges to build myself up - yes I work 12hr shifts mainly sat in front of a computer, no I may not lose as much weight as I need to but I used to be able to sit back and say - I did better than yesterday which albeit small is a goal achieved for me

Disappointed that I cannot get my old dashboard back. I know always trying to polish things up-  can appreciate that. Doesn't mean I love it tho....

@JScuba non of us want to but it inadvertently happens when companies don't take all aspects into account and the people that have commented on here are just the ones who care enough to voice and opinion there will be thousands that don't because of being ignored in the past they will just say why bother and buy something else - then they will tell their family and friends of there experience cos they will listen and then they will tell there's and so on and before you know it the 300 that's not happy at a cost of (£120 a product - for example a mid range tracker) would lose £36,000 x by 2/3/4 a couple of times as each person tells others and you soon reach a loss of a £million now no matter how big a company you are that's peoples jobs and production costs that they are losing out on - the share holders and CEO wont care they would have made there money and just sell out to another company - so the end note is the small amount of people on here may not make the difference but they must look at the wider picture - Reputation IS everything and Fitbit are rapidly losing it due to stubbornness and unwillingness to listen to the problems the new dashboard has at present - if they are not willing to do this then its a lost cause that's all im saying - im not judging or accusing

You need to find the PRIOR version (2.47) on the internet, download it to your phone, UNINSTALL the current version, and then install version 2.47. When you run version 2.47 the first time you'll still see the new dashboard, but you can go into advanced settings and switch back to the old format.

I have been a loyal Fitbit customer through at least 3 different devices and over many years. I have appreciated the ability to customize the product to suit my needs. The decision to move exclusively to the tile style dashboard seems very much out of character and I am extremely disappointed. I recognize that people read data in different ways, and that for some, the newer style tiles are preferred. However, the new tiles are not consistent in being able to view previous days data. For the main steps tile, you use an arrow to move forward or backward thru day's data. In the other tiles, you open the tile and the previous days are laid out in a chart. Why the difference? My main complaint is these tiles take up too much screen space when compared to the older style dashboard. Why do I need a big square and large icon when the previous dashboard had more information displayed at one time with smaller symbols? I'm very, very disappointed, and will be watching for opportunities to buy other product lines.

I totally agree with @516kjl but they are still not listening in the hope that the issue will go away, it would be so much better if they separate ALL the tiles and give us the option of where to put each tile and even at a push resize and combine tiles to meet OUR needs - I wonder how many staff at fitbit actually use a fitbit and see the dashboards - whereas the tiles look great on a PC the mobile platform is a lot smaller and does not have the same effect - I think because they believe they are the best they don't have to improvise/listen/adjust - they need to take a look at Apple they made a mistake and sales plummeted - Samsung got it wrong in the battery department and had to recall a whole product line - is this what you are waiting for Fitbit - we are trying to help you avoid these situations while keeping everyone happy. make the changes or give us the choice of the old dashboard back

well @ErickFitbit  I hate the new app.  It's not friendly.  My medical professional is very unhappy with the amount of work it now takes to assist me with my fitness and health needs.  She wants to see my heart rate in comparison to the activity I did on a certain day.  Your new dashboard no longer does that.
Asking to offer the option like you did for 6 months is not unreasonable but your lack of response to customer concerns is.

I will not purchase another Fitbit based on the lack of response and working with the community to get US what we want and pay for.  I hope others do the same.  We will vote with our money and see how you like us then.

sleep may 2017.png@ErickFitbit, or any Moderator who is looking ( there are so many forums on this I didn't know which is current and is still an issue so it is here, if you don't like it here move it to where it is supposed to be) OMG If this sorry excuse for a dashboard isn't bad enough the website is now showing INCORRECT sleep data since when did 5h 30 + 1h 15 = 9Hrs or 7h06 + 1hr 02 = 10hrs Fitbit you really need to start sorting your life out (Windows Desktop)

isn't it strange that they pick people up for a supposed violation because of the frustration that they wont answer the questions or visit the issues on this thread - I wish we could send out violations to them FOR NOT DOING THEIR JOB, and see how they like to be looked down at

Hi everyone --

The new dashboard for Android was a decision that took into consideration a lot of user feedback and market research. While many of you are expressing your discontent, please note, your feedback on the new dashboard is being heard. @ErickFitbit and I have been attentive to your concerns expressed in this discussion. From reading through the recent posts on this thread, I can see the following being mentioned:

1) You would like all the tiles on the dashboard to update according to each date, not just the top half portion.

2) Syncing time has gotten delayed and should be improved.

3) The tiles are too large and don't allow for more information to be viewed at once.

Our Community team plays a big role in relaying this information to our development teams. As always, thanks for your constructive and honest feedback.

All respect AmyChristineH but you probably should not be relying on wrist based heart rate monitors for medical purposes. It's to provide an indication only and are known to not be as accurate as chest based HRM's.

@AlessFitbit, first of all, thank you for your post. So far the predominating feeling was that we, the vocal displeased minority, have been stonewalled and segregated to a closed pen where we might vent out frustration.

To your points:

1) You would like all the tiles on the dashboard to update according to each date, not just the top half portion.

2) Syncing time has gotten delayed and should be improved.

3) The tiles are too large and don't allow for more information to be viewed at once.

Not only that. Add here the fourth point:

4) The users cannot choose the tiles, which they want to see in the upper pane, and cannot swap the tiles between panes.

As an example, I absolutely am not interested in the number of stairs or active minutes at the upper pane, but I cannot swap them for much more interesting to me calories and sleep from the lower pane. However if I hide these uninteresting tiles, this leaves a huge blindingly white empty space.

5) Too much real estate of the screen is wasted with circle tiles.

6) The very white, very bright background is very straining on the eyes. In the old dashboard, this was not as noticeable because the real estate was utilized more fully. Allowing users to choose a background of their choice (from their own gallery, or pre-designed by Fitbit) would be very helpful.

Thank you for listening. I truly hope that the company will give us these options. I like the tracker but the new dashboard is unusable for me and it makes my tracker mostly a glorified watch with a step count option, cutting down its usefulness by 90%.

Thank-you for taking the time to respond. The complete disengagement from the moderator group prior to now has not helped the general impression towards the Fitbit brand, its community moderators or like there's any sort of regard for the genuine (and IMHO very reasonable) feedback being provided. Considering that these issues have been raised persistently for the last 6 months, I do not have a lot of hope that it's actually being considered or the dashboard adapted to incorporate it. I have zero problem with being proven wrong on that.

While the tiles may work on larger screens the formfactor of a standard-sized phone is not very compatible for them. I have left a 1 star review on the Play store app page and the response was to get in touch using the contact page. I don't see anything that can be gained from spending more of my time doing that when the requests I'd make have been clearly, plainly and reasonably stated here.

I agree.I don't like the new dashboard.I want the old dashboard.Not because I'm against change.BECAUSE IT WORKED!
I don't like the layout but I would get used to it if it all worked. If I could see it ALL at once.If it would sync without me having to pretend to add something to force it to sync, churning up my battery. If ALL of yesterday's stats were able to look at side by side and not one tile at a time. Go back. Look at next tile. Go back ..

Thanks for finally accepting you're looking at our concerns. I have finally downloaded tje old version 247 of FitBut Android app and using old dashboard and WILL NOT update FitBit ever again so as not to lose it.
The concerns you noted fail to mention tje fact that the DATE is missing from 'yesterday' and 'today' which ai would want brought back, i.e. the ACTUAL date would always show rather than just 'today' for current day and 'yesterday' for previous day - a simple request I would have thought!
