Not Showing Sleep Scores in the Fitbit app

A few weeks ago a new area in the sleep log had an place for Sleep Scores. I found where to turn on this feature and have turned it on but for two weeks it shows the score category but never actually posts a score. Is there something I need to do for my scores to start posting?

I wish it was as simple as that. The app gives me a sleep score about 20% of the time. I’ve tried everything.

I’ve found that consciously keeping the watch loose and about 2 fingers from wrist bone does work.

Do not use the Fitbit to begin your sleep. SYNCH your all, wear the Fitbit to bed, and then SYNCH your app after you wake up. Works every time since I was informed.

I had the same problem with my Charge 4 this morning. I decided to omit deleting goals and restarting the device (to see what would happen) but did delete the sleep entry and manually re-entered it (as mentioned in ovyy222’s post). The app recalculated everything and I got my sleep score back. I guess the app gets stuck when “Begin Sleep Now” is used. I hope this info also helps!

Thank you for the details shared and the troubleshooting performed prior to posting. I see where your disappointment is coming from. 

 

I'd like to clarify that the app will show the information tracked by your Fitbit watch or tracker. Please make sure that each night, you're wearing your Fitbit to bed and it will automatically detect your sleep then in the morning when you sync, it will show your sleep data.

 

If the Fitbit app is used to track sleep, it won't show sleep stages and therefore there won't be sleep score. Learn more about it by checking this article How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device? What's sleep score in the Fitbit app? 

 

Last but not least, make sure that your Fitbit app is up-to-date

I apparently got a defective fitbit as a Christmas gift because I have to do the steps to get the sleep # show up at least once a week.

Look into some of the older posts and you will find a solution that might work for you - main things are to synch watch before going to bed and do not use the app to log sleep - allow the wrist device to sense your sleep and awake periods.

Synching the Fitbit App before going to sleep, wear the Fitbit and do not log sleep on Fitbit App before or after going to bed.
Fitbit will determine when you are awake and asleep. In the morning after you wake up, go to App - Synch App and within a minute it will provide you a sleep score.

Is there anything that can be done if I did use the fitbit app's sleep tracking? Would deleting the log from the app and syncing again give me my sleep score? I don't want to try it and lose the crappy log I already have, but this low quality log is not helpful at all.

Using the log has not worked for me or others in the FitBit community, however, I have not missed a sleep score since using just the FitBit while I sleep and synching App before and after I go to bed and then wake up. I suggest trying not logging when you go to lo bed and at wake up for a week and see how it goes.

Nope, once you tracked your sleep and didn’t get your sleep score, there is no way to get it back; so just sleep after syncing your device and you will get your sleep score. The sleep tracking function is completely useless and pointless, Fitbit should have deleted it, it causes so much confusions!

Have been enjoying the sleep function. Have been experimenting with ways and means to sleep and to determine if the sleep function relates to any changes/experiments in the way I fall asleep (such as: when, use of screen time or not, with or without a meditation, use of melatonin or not). The best experiential feedback is when I wake up rested and bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, did it reflect in the sleep score…also, it seems like this information/feedback is about our habits and patterns - learning the think about and acquire helpful/thoughtful behavior and FitBit seems to be quite intuitive and intriguingly helpful...

I have done all the resets and it still is intermittent in recording the sleep score. Happy to share screens shots...please advise on how to share with you.

There is not much to share in terms of screenshots because it is more about a process I use to obtain consistent scores.

1) Make sure your Fitbit is fastened so that there is firm (not tight) contact between it and your skin - I have mine placed over the little wrist bone.
2) Synch your Fitbit app on your phone before going to bed. I have my phone near my bed (though phone placement is not necessarily a factor as your data seems to be transmitted wirelessly).
3) Do nothing else with the app or your Fitbit (unless you listen to a meditation found on the app, which I advise).
4) After you wake up, go to your app on your phone and synch your app. Sometimes, it takes two synchs, back to back.
5) Sleep scores appears like magic!

The above is all I do and have not missed a score since getting the Fitbit three months ago (except for one evening that I did not wear my Fitbit and of course, no data = no score). My sleep scores have improved since listening to/reading the Fitbit information on the app about more effective ways to get improved sleep - following the weekly sleep reminders and using the app to sign-off on pre-sleep routines have helped better understand the sleep process.

My sleep goal is to experiment with pre-sleep routines, bedtime schedules and limited use/non-use of melatonin to improve my sleep highest score beyond my highest score of 89. I began in the mid-60’s - and very soon was averaging in the 80s with just a few tweaks to my sleep routine. Side note, what and when you eat and drink, use of meditation and committing to experiment with all of the information has led to realizing the true goal - getting a consistent night’s sleep that is restorative and that helps fuel a positive difference in mood and energy!

I have been on this thread sometime back as had problems with my Inspire HR suddenly not giving sleep scores (just basic data) I tried ALL the suggestions of resets and goodness knows what. I came to the conclusion that it was a software problem which caused the issue as the problem started after an update. After a period of time everything was back to working perfectly. 
Last week there was a software update on my iPhone. Guess what - back to no sleep scores again. 
I am honestly clueless as to why this is happening. I’ve tried all the known fixes yet again and still no joy. The only thing I haven’t tried is to uninstall/reinstall the device from my app so I’ll try that later and revert back.

uninstalled device from app then reinstalled yesterday. Sleep score back this morning 🙌

My Fitbit is not recording my sleep score, and it says I woke up at 3:27 am when I didn’t wake up until 5 am when the alarm went off. I do not know how to manually correct the time slept or to ensure that tonight so get a sleep score. This started happening 3 nights ago.

What type of Fitbit do you have?

If it is a Charge 4, then simply wear the Fitbit to bed (not a loose fit, need to make contact with your skin), synch your app and go to sleep. Do not use app to set or log sleep. In the morning, synch your Fitbit on the app, might need two synchs (just pull down on the Fitbit app and it will synch). Should provide you your sleep score.
